"A brilliantly imagined near-future world where six clones and their counterparts grapple with profound questions of identity and what it means to be human. The first book in a compulsively readable duology, Rebecca Hanover's THE SIMILARS asks us to consider the consequences of our scientific creations. Part cautionary tale, part gripping teen romance, THE SIMILARS is as immersive and fast-paced as it is shrewd, compelling and heartbreaking." - Ray Kurzweil, inventor, futurist, and New York Times bestselling author
"A page-turner that more than delivers on its premise. Hanover takes on sci-fi and high school with equal wit and understanding." - Allison Raskin, New York Times bestselling author of I Hate Everyone But You

As soon as I started reading about Emma, Pru and Levi, I felt myself pulled into the Darkwood world. My husband laughed as I eagerly read pages and gasped or shook with surprise as the story unfolded. Got through the book in just a few nights and now I have so many questions and am thirsting for more - can't wait for book 2 to come out and more from this fantastic new author!
The Similars has gotten me into YA fiction all over again. Pick it up! You won't put it down ;)
I will say, I did predict about 50% of the ending, but that may be because I tend to read books with surprise endings.
I think the characters were well developed and the reader is engaged because the story easily morphs the teens’ everyday school life with the crime and underlying plot.
Would highly recommend and can’t wait for the sequel!
