I'm not a good man, and I've never pretended to be. I don't believe in goodness or God or any happy ending that isn't paid for in advance.
What do I believe in? Money. Sex. Macallan 18.
They have words for men like me - playboy. Womanizer. Skirt chaser. My brother used to be a priest, and he only has one word for me: sinner.

Sean is the quintessential playboy. He only cares about his job and making money. He goes through women like they are play things. He’s celebrating his big night after securing the deal that made his law firm tons of money so he makes his victory lap trying to find his prize to take home at the end of the night. He sees her and knows he has to have her. But she’s young, so much younger than him at 36 but that’s not going to stop him.
Zenny is 21 and is about to begin the steps to becoming a nun. Her family always had her life planned out for her but she wants a life of her own choosing. She also wants to be tested and tried by the things of this world before she marries herself to Christ. So when Sean whispers all those nasty things to her at the party she knows he the person to go to to help her. She wants him to test her faith and show her all the carnal pleasures this world has to offer so she knows she’s making the right choice for herself.
I really loved this one. This one felt like it had more story to it than the first one which is neither good or bad. This has the best friends little sister, age gap, and virgin tropes. While this story is a sexy romance it’s also an exploration of grief and trauma. Sean’s sister Izzy committed suicide from the abuse of a church leader and he hasn’t been the same since. He thinks of himself as a depraved sinner but doesn’t believe in God anymore. This book talks a lot about faith in an interesting and respectful way. The sex scenes can get a little blasphemous but the actual talk of religion is done well and so honestly.
I loved seeing the different sides of Sean. Yeah he can be selfish and he is a playboy but he is also kind and has a big heart. His love for his mother wrecked me. How he fought for her to keep her alive. The way he reads romance books aloud to her and the other patients while they get chemo/radiation melted my heart and the line about her being the most beautiful woman in the world 🤧. I also loved Zenny. I loved how strong she was. She knew what she wanted and she went for it no matter what. She was such a brave and honest character. I will definitely be continuing on in the series.

“There’ll be no claiming her, god claimed her first“
Sean is a successful millionaire and a non believer after what happened to his sister. Like with his brother Tyler / Father Bell we dive back into why the Catholic Church was a catalyst in their sisters death and how it’s had a deep impact on the Bell brothers (sex)life and beliefs.
Zenny is Sean’s best friends much younger “almost virgin” little sister and she’s about to become a nun. She convinces Sean to show her what she’ll be missing once she’s married to god. And so Sean the bossy teacher and Zenny the eager student start an arrangement, a sex arrangement . She is a beautiful black strong 20 year old and knows what she wants. In life and from Sean.
The sexiness mixed with the humor is the best part of Sean. Being in his thoughts makes this book! I laughed at his ridiculous (in the best way) thoughts and swooned at his sensual imagination.
Theres no two or three. That’s his reason not to tell her in that moment lol! There’s just so many great lines in this book.
Tears actually pressed at my eyes a few times. Sean’s thoughts and prayers seriously got to me. His mothers passing was extremely emotionally maybe because I lost my mother to cancer as well and watching her waist away, just a year after my father, was extremely tough.
I’m a sucker for the playboy who uses women and doesn’t commit only to be brought to his knees by a younger, grounded, smart and sassy woman and get sucker punched in the gut by true love.
God, seggs, belief and unbelief
Got it on audible and once again Jacob Morgan narrates to perfection. His voice is pure seggs 🤩

I didn’t realise how invested I was in Sean and Zenny until my emotions got the better of me and tears were streaming down my face. To me, their story is original because of Zenny's future plans. I couldn’t get enough of seeing Sean and Zenny together - feeling they were perfect for each other. I loved the character development, and I adored the changes we see in Sean throughout the narrative. I found him to be nothing like I expected in all honesty, especially when alone with Zenny. His journey over the years has seen him dealing with heartache and pain and it seemed to me that Zenny came into his life at the right time - as did Sean with Zenny. Their thoughts and actions were penned brilliantly by the author. I had a good understanding of what they both were going through, and I do believe this helped bring out all the emotions that I experienced.
This story is an age-gap, best friend’s sister, forbidden romance story which focuses on trust, love, desire, heartache, healing, forgiveness, family, friendships and more. There are many hot and steamy scenes throughout this book– the chemistry and sexual tension between Sean and Zenny is palpable. I love that Sinner is written using only Sean’s POV as it works perfectly with the book’s title and it is his story after all. I did find this story to be rather slow paced and at times I wanted it to go a little faster, but maybe I was being a little too impatient to discover what happened next. This is the reason why I award Sinner 4.5 stars.
Sinner is the perfect for those looking for a hot, sexy forbidden romance. Enjoy!!

I didn’t really get on with Priest, the first book, but looking back I think I should have probably listened on audio, so I might go back and do that another time.
Sinner was incredible, it was such a great forbidden, age gap romance. But it had substance, it had important conversations that really made me think. I felt connected with Sean and his journey with his faith, and if I’m being totally honest I didn’t expect for it to make me think about my faith. But I adored Sean, I adored seeing his character progression and watching him fall in love. I adored Zenny, I adored her determination, how intuitive she was and how she wasn’t afraid to be herself.
I loved watching their relationship grow, I loved seeing their chemistry, the angst and the forbidden-ness of it all was thrilling.
I also won’t lie, the spice was a great addition! Definitely lived up to the first book!
All I know is I’m a Sean Bell and Zenny Iverson lover!

omg sean fricking bell🔥 the definition of a man written by a woman, the creme de là creme of men, the blueprint🫠 i fell fast and hard for him! we love a bit of a taboo romance, and it doesn’t get more taboo than a lothario and a soon to be (younger) nun!
this was such a fun yet angsty read, a literal rollercoaster of emotions—from omg is it getting a bit hot in there🥵 to omg my heart is hurting🥹. seriously such an addictive read, i could get enough of sean and zenny!🔥 loved that it touched on some tougher topics such as racism, prejudice, doubt and death.
the little glimpse into what we can expect in the next book, saint has me soooo excited to read it! i can’t wait🤭.
tropes:
• forbidden romance
• best friend’s little sister
• age gap (~15 years)
• angsty
• (very) spicy

Like with Priest, the conversations of faith and intimacy are really poignant and honestly, even made me look at religion in a different light. But I honestly think this could have done with a bit of dual POV?
I dunno. I still enjoyed it, and I’ll definitely pick up Saint in the future, but I feel I’m deffo in the minority with this one. It’s not the book it’s me.
