I'm bound to a demon.
For my entire life, I avoided magic at all costs. Now, I'm responsible for a demon who wields magic more powerful than the toughest mage or sorcerer.
Demons are evil.
That's what my textbooks say. That's what I see. He's ruthless, he's temperamental, he's cold. But he protects me without fail. I wonder if he's hiding a heart behind his hostility.
My demon is a monster.
Whether he's heartless or not, my contract with him is illegal and beyond dangerous. Together, we must find a way to return him to his own world before anyone discovers our secret. If that wasn't bad enough, I've come to realize something else: My demon isn't the only monster I should be worried about.

I already plan to move unto her other books. By the looks of the synopsis, it's going to be as fun and exiting as this has been! It's a page turner and purely addictive! Looks like I'll be saving up for the author's other works. Yes, read on Kindle Unlimited. I keep checking Audible for book one. Knowing it won't to be available until the release date.
Wow. Realistically and HEAVENS!!! Didn't think a book character's disappointment could taste so bitter to bring me to tears! 😢
Okay, you're killing me! Having to WAIT until April next year for book three is like torture. Ughhhhh! How about book first; cover later? (begging here) 😉 💕 Having mixed emotions. Smiling while screaming on the inside! Will do text to speech at work tomorrow. Already worked through the day getting up twice. Only paused once (little annoying thing called life). April.. so far, far away 😢
The second in this series was just as satisfying as the first. This time our super nerd, Robin, and the group are going to have to get their hands dirty if they are are going to find her uncle and get her mother's heirloom back. Masquerading as a demonica contractor in her latest guild, she meets Zora a petite badass who basically adopts Robin in true extrovert vs introvert fashion AND introduces this week's monster of the week: Vampires.
After, mowing through this series, I can't wait for the next installment. The uneven power dynamic between Xylas and Robin makes for delicious tension as well. Self preservation is hard wired into him and Robin isnt that great at it. Which Xylas takes advantage of sometimes. Honestly it has me wondering more about what demon culture is really like for Xylas. I hope we get a glimpse of it in the final installment. What was Robin's mom trying to prevent?Or wtf Claude even wants with the Book.
Also, who is Claude? Will his secrets be revealed? Will our heroes triumph? Will this review ever end?
Another excellent entry in the Guild Codex Universe.

We learn a lot more about Zylas' background and Robin's backstory - and are still left wanting to know more! I really like how you begin to appreciate their different patterns of thinking and how it creates lot of interesting misunderstandings for them to work through. The plot is clearly thickening and you can start to see how the story will entwine with the other Guild Codex series...
Also, the ending certainly steps up the plot somewhat! A whole new avenue of possibilities... And that's before the cliffhanger ending which is going to make Robin and Zylas' lives even more complicated!
