Laura Lippman's short story focuses on Liz, married to Phil in an imbalanced relationship. Ugh!
The plot centers on Liz's knowledge of of her husband's emotional attachment to another woman, one of his company's vendors. The awkward tensions build as Liz starts reading the texts on her husband's burner phone to the other woman. Wow! What dies she do with her superpowered knowledge. Liz is also teaches Greek literature, emphasizing in the misdeeds of the Greek gods.
The author's storytelling combines the ironies and absurdities of the Greek gods with Liz's surreal lived experiences, creating an imaginative and interesting storyline you won't want to put down. Loved the ending!
The Audible narration was a nice plus for this short work, complementing my Kindle purchase.
This was the third installment of Amazon's Hush collection of strong author writing unique short stories about the secrets people live or die with. I'm loving the whole series with it's high quality and variety.
