I like ice cream, I bet you like ice cream and it turns out sloths like ice cream too! In Rebecca Rae Williams's book, Slow Moe Gets a Tasty Treat, we meet Moe the sloth. He is very excited to get to the Tasty Treats Ice Cream Shop for their Sizzling-Summer, Super-Duper, Double-Deal day. There is just one problem - sloths are slow! After a little snooze, Moe heads out to catch the bus. As he is making his way down the road, he meets several animal friends who all encourage him to move a little faster as they do. Unfortunately for Moe, he just must keep shuffling along and he misses the bus. He really wants that ice cream, so he continues down the road. Thanks to his friends he is in for a sweet surprise and then it is back to sleep.

Rebecca Rae Williams has written and illustrated a great sloth story. It is lovely to have a picture book with a more unusual animal, like a sloth, as the main character. This would make a charming read-aloud story as the kids can pretend to move slowly like Moe and then hop, fly, and scurry like all his other animal friends. Moe has got such a sweet personality that it would be fun to see more stories about his adventures. Slow Moe Gets a Tasty Treat is a fun friendship story and a perfect read for a hot summer's day.
