And also the movie Time Bandits, which borrowed heavily. Johan and Peewit (cast list names) figure largely here as the supporting characters most often seen on the Smurfs. Johan is also called Yavin (like Yavin space station) and Peewit is called Sir William. Peewit gets the nod as the more important character because he and McCreep are the ones who use the flute. The joke is that Peewit succeeds in bringing the flute back from Smurf land and pretends not to have it until the climactic scene where he faces McCreep. I always wanted to watch this movie in peace and see what I think of it. Apparently the story comes from a 1958 comic book.
