It starts with Cinderella at the ball. She runs away, leaves the glass slipper, ect ect. But when Lady Tremaine locks her in the attic, the mice don't give her the key. So she never tries on the glass slipper. The evil Stepmother tries to sell her, so she runs away. She is found by a seamstress her age, who brings her to the castle, where she is hired to be the king's sister, a lady who is very hard to please. Then Cinderella finds a book with a mysterious note inside a book about magic. It seems that magic was banished from the kingdom, which is why she only had till midnight. Cinderella must sve her fairy godmother and all the other magical beings, while she also must battle with her feelings about Prince Charles(a.k.a Prince Charming).
The only thing I didn't really like was that the plot was kinda the same as As Old As Time(the beauty and the beast twisted tale). Other than that, it was SOOO good!!! I love the ones Elizabeth Lim writes! I wish she would write more of them!!!!! If you like Reflection, you'll like this one. Don't miss it!
This is for fairy tale fans who enjoy a modern story telling approach to their classics.

A girl who only wanted a (step)mother's love and acceptance finds herself breaking free of that familial shackle. She also realizes her dream of happily ever after is an illusion. Armed with this new realization, Cinderella strikes out on her own to form her own destiny and finds that illusion can sometimes become reality.
This book let's you see beyond the ball and the glass slipper, to the motives and feelings of the characters who were just footnotes in the animated movie.
This "what if" allows Cinderella to become more than the girl with a fairy godmother who got a prince. She becomes a princess because she actively pursues a path to do right, and she saves a prince.
I'd strongly recommend sticking to the books in this series written by Liz Braswell or Jen Calonita instead -- both are much better writers. The only book in the series we didn't finish was Reflection, also by Elizabeth Lim, and also quite tedious. Though we finished this one, it really wasn't worth the time.

Different side/version off classic Disney story’s
It was good seeing some characters constructed to be malicious, unlike the movie.
