To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness.
This is my favorite hand soap, it was sold out everywhere (along with all other soaps). I was price gouged heavily by paying 20 dollars for 6. In normal times this item sells for about 98 cents per bottle. Shame on Amazon. I still gave 5 stars because the soap itself is excellent.
Had allergic reaction to this Softsoap, which says made in Canada. The formula is different from the original available at Costco. Thought I’d washed too many time yesterday, when my hands were red, with micro cuts at the end of day. Testing today on rested skin and untouched skin resulted in Needle-like sensation, followed by red skin on both areas. Have not had such a bad reaction with Softsoap before.
I suggest buying one of these and a large container of soap to restock. Put in every bathroom, kitchen, area which you need to clean your hands. The best price is that you get a lot for not much. But you don't have a large impacting fragrance or "clean" feeling as this new soaps out there in the field.
Again, I received what may be a "second" and not a first line quality item from the initial seller. Ultimately, only 1 out of 6 push-pump dispensers worked. I tried the first dispenser and turned it about 30 times but to no avail, and yes, I was turning it in the correct direction... lol. [My husband actually asked...lol] Okay... when tens of thousands of bottles are likely sold, there can be failures and glitches. BUT, I then tried to open a push-pump dispenser to another Softsoap for the kitchen, and then 2 others for the bathrooms. They would not pop up - at all - despite 20 to 30 turns, whereas it normally takes less than five. So, I tried the remaining. Out of the 6 Softsoap bottles, only 1 worked-- and that was only after a ridiculous number of turns. The entire batch has bad push-pump dispensers. Epic fail. This is more than simply a rare glitch. It's evidence of a bad production run of dispensers. It also appears that the box had previously been opened and re-taped -- which is always a warning sign or red flag. [Were these also returned, then mistakenly re-shelved, then sold again?] I was both pleased and surprised at the price point. Were there so cheap because they are seconds? I will be returning.
Be aware that this is NOT the same as what you’ve purchased before. The list of ingredients on this page are WRONG. The manufacturer has changed the formula and added chemicals that aren’t listed. If you have sensitive skin like I do, this new soap may cause problems. I’ve used it for years and was so excited to finally find some. My hands broke out after only part of a day of using it, so I checked the ingredients. Shame on the manufacturer for not at least putting a “new” somewhere on the label.
Nice smelling hand soap and very inexpensive. However, it's annoying when the bottle doesn't empty towards the end. The pump hose is too short and doesn't go all the way to the bottom of the bottle, therefore leaving about 1/2 inch of soap that won't pump out. Hence the reason for only 3 stars. I usually just add water, take out the pump and use the remainder in the shower to use it all up.
