About the Author

Book two was a major improvement over book one.I really liked the story line That being said something still felt off. Good story line but character interaction and love scenes felt off somehow. Almost like a poor mix of genres. This is a basic classic romance but the author trying to portray passionate lovemaking misses the mark and leaves this reader cringing. Certain words just shouldn't be used to describe bedroom stuff. Some of the scenes i thought were almost awkwardly written with a touch of dramatic. Then the build up of the story was so obvious in spots you could guess the ending. On to book three...not excited about this but I did buy the whole set. I am being a little harsh I suppose considering it kept me. Intrigued enough to read it within two evenings.

This book is #2 and a stand alone book. I read the first book and couldn't wait to get the next one, and read it last night. Maria, is a strong lady - who like her brother has a mind of her own and works with her brother and several of the special ops men. Only one man Jake, is the one she wants. Starting as a crush - that just continues to have her hormone racing. There was some questionable things Jake said and did, but not so that it kept me from giving this 5 stars. I love books with strong women who know what they want. However, in the whole of this book, Jake was fighting with himself in not wanting to love Maria. I found Maria sometimes acted before she thought and could relate. I will continue this series, unless Sandra Owens the author drastically changes her writing. I find her books, easy and quick to read, which I love and have the action I like.

I loved this book! This story is so fantastic that I actually slowed down a couple of times so I could take longer to read it. Maria and her brother own the K2 Special Service Team which consists of two former Navy seals - at least so far. Logan Kincaid is Maria's brother whose story is in the first book, CRAZY FOR HER. I have not read it yet (I do however own it), but based on the backstory mentioned in this book it sounds wonderful also.

Maria and Logan had a hard life. Their mother was a prostitute who only cared about herself. Her father was one of her mother's tricks. Lovey Dovey, their mother disliked Maria because she, Maria, was prettier than she. Since Logan was Maria's protector - from their mother, the men who visited and anyone else in the neighborhood - the brother and sister team were very close.

Jake Buchanan is one of the other former Navy seals that works for the team. Maria has always felt something special for him, but he never even looked at her twice. However, what Maria doesn't know is that Jake has also been interested in her but her brother threatened him if he ever dated her because of his well-earned nickname, Romeo.

Maria decided she wanted to look for her father. Unfortunately, with the first man she meets Maria "stumbles into a nightmare." This is where Jake gets involved and that is when their story gets more thrilling and more exciting and the couple fall more and more in love.

This is not an easy love for Maria. Jake is scared of commitment and Logan, her brother, highly disapproves.

Even though this is the second book in this series, I was able to read this story with no problem. I actually own the first book but have not had a chance to read it. Also, there is a third book coming out and I cannot wait to read that. I sincerely hope that this author continues with this series for a long time!

While they did not know who their father was, Maria was the only one who was trying to find hers, based on a diary found after her mother's death. Logan runs the K2 team and has given Jake strict instructions that his sister is Off Limits. Of course Jake is the one Maria wants. With a strong female heroine who knows what she wants, Jake does not stand much of a chance. This is the second book of the series and a stand alone. I look forward to reading the rest of the series and find this author someone I follow.

I love the wit and passion throughout the whole story. Sandra is a wonderful story teller. It's no wonder I am hooked to her K2 series. I thoroughly enjoyed Logan's story in 'Crazy for Her'. And now Jake's story I find even better. He is even more intense than Logan believe it or not! He has a fiery passion and the chemistry between Maria and Jake is sizzling hot! I love the fact that they have both secretly yearned for each other over many years but the friendship was rock solid first. They are a great couple and I enjoyed their wonderful story. Many highlights throughout the book including 'drunk Jake' and I love the banter between the ex SEALS. A great bunch of hunky ass kicking dudes with hearts of gold. I am excited to get started on Jamie's story next! 'Falling for Her'. This and all of Sandra's novels are highly recommended.

Of all the ladies for him to get serious with, why would he fall for the lady who could get him killed a million ways to Sunday? Because Maria is strong, and fierce, just like Jake. She knows what she wants, and that's him. And she doesn't care what big brother, Logan, has to say. The way Jake tries to ignore their budding romance is great, especially when you know Maria won't let him ignore it. I'll be reading this one again soon...

Maria Had a crush on Jake forever and Jake wasn't not unaware of Maria either. Maria tried to find her Dad but unfortunately came across some problems so called on Jake to help her. It ended up being very involved and Maria was kidnapped. Although Jake was to go on a mission he sent his men on before him and went to rescue Maria. This is a lovely story with lots of emotion and romance in it. A must read.

I was really enjoying this book up until Id say 30 pages before the end
It seemed like the book was rushed to be finished at one point I thought id missed a few pages as jake was acting wierd then suddenly proposing and they lived happily ever after and that was that kind of thing Other wise great book shame about the ending :(
