Enhance your purchase
Faran flees enemies who would kill him. But his greatest threat is his protector…
Fate has chosen him as the prophesied Seventh Knight. Supposedly, he will rise to combat the forces of evil. He wants no part of that. But he does have a destiny, and one of his own choosing.
The king and his six knights seek Faran’s death for what he might become. But in turn, he seeks theirs for what they have already done. They brought fire and murder to his village, and destroyed all that he ever knew and loved. For this, he will make them pay. But justice comes at a price.
He does not have the skills with blade or magic to challenge his enemies. So he must begin to learn them, even if it sets him on the path of knighthood. He dedicates himself to study the arts of those he hates, and bides his time.
But his enemies hunt him. And the wizard who will become Osahka to him, The Guide, and teach him the ways of the knights, brings with him a deadly danger that no one foresees…

All in all a decent read, lots of action and magic but also quite a bit of repetition to add words. The repetition becomes tedious after the author uses the same paragraph multiple times in every book so I tend to just skim those sections.
If I was going full steam it would be done in less than a day.
I go through a lot of books as you can imagine and for the money these have been the shortest books I've read.
Not sure it's worth my $$ to continue with the series when I can get something twice as long with a more epic scope for the same or less. That aside...I like the premise. :)

I gave up on the series at the beginning of Book 3, so may never know, other than for some serious spoilers in the later reviews. In all, this series suffers from the modern tendency away from trilogies, which work because they have a structure: set up the opposing sides and the players, while establishing a way forward for the hero([in]es); get the hero into shape and suffer a few setbacks; hero reaches full potential and conquers the bad guy. It is not essential to observe the trilogy rule, but very few series that exceed three volumes actually deserve the extra length, and it is very clear that this is one of them. Volumes one and two both could and should have been the first volume of a trilogy.
In all, this series is superficially enjoyable, but suffers the instant that any serious thought is applied.
Put the 2 books together you have 1 book worth £3.. but not £6.
Taking the books shortness and price out of the equation ..they are great books well writen, great characters, great story..ok theres a lot of Lotr rip off, but a lot of well considered original stuff as well.
I will get book 3 when the price drops .
