A bluetooth device should easily pair. Sadly, these don't. BTW, I enjoy other Anker products. I have multiple Anker charge blocks, cables, and car chargers. I have an Anker Viva Pro which I use daily and a Roav smart charger. Up until now, Anker has never disappointed. However these ear buds are beyond disappointing, they are frustrating.
If you don't believe this review, Google something to the effect of "Liberty Air 2 both won't pair". Consider all of the various "answers" with no consistent solution. Do you really want to set yourself up for this level of troubleshooting over a pair of ear buds? Save you time and save your sanity. Steer clear of these until Anker figures out how to make BOTH ear buds seamlessly pair.
You'll need to find a product that's right for you, however, you can never go wrong with a company like Anker who takes so good care of its customers...
Design and build quality excellent. No complaint. Durability we'll find out sooner or later.
Battery life also exceptional, great job Anker. Call quality is great. In terms of noise cancellation, this is a closed design earphone without active noise cancellation, if you cant understand this, dont bother reading the rest of the review :)
Pairing with iphone xr was a disaster but I got it work using the "putting them back to back" trick...
My real issue is with the sound.
My current wire headphones: Sennheiser HD598, Bose Soundtrue On-ear, Sennheiser IE80, Denon C710K, Creative Labs Aurovara Air (which I absolutely love more than any other), and Apple EarPods.
My current wireless headphones: Airpods Gen1 (I lost one earbud which is why I bought the Anker); Sony WI1000X which I use for air travels.
I'm not comparing this $89 pair True Wireless earbuds to the IE80s, which is obviously not fair. I'm also not comparing this with the Aurovara Air, which has a different design.
The problem is that I dont know what I can use to compare. The resolution seems to be fine, with "fake grains" which is common in over-engineered headsets or speakers. The compression of bluetooth obviously didnt help either. The sound stage, well I dont know how to describe it.. it sank into the bottom of the ocean and can never be found. The real problem is that it doesnt matter which profile I pick out of the app, I couldnt get out a pleasant sound. Is the Apple Earpod superior when it comes to sound quality? Not really. However, it produces decent sound that you can listen to for hours and not feel like going insane. I think same thing applies to the BeatsX which has terrible sound but doesnt make you uncomfortable. The Liberty Air 2, unfortunately, didnt achieve that. When you try to get good sound of a budget headphone by over engineering everything, it usually doesnt end up well.
The bottom line is - I'm keeping these because they are so comfortable and easy to use and have an in-ear design - which is what I absolutely need for my 3 - 4 hour daily commute - I dont want to spend $250 for the new AirPods pro and this is excellent for its price. However, I still want to write this review because what Anker (one of my favorite companies) claims to be "rigid diamond-coated drivers produce sound with flawless accuracy" is simply not true. The accuracy is terrible which is ok for this price point, just use a different angle to highlight the product.

These earbuds win on so many levels.
Stay in ears very well
They're fully in ear. I know for some, that's a deal breaker.
There's no hear-through function. Since they're fully in ear buds, they really block out surrounding sounds well. While this is great in some scenarios, it can be dangerous if you need to hear what's happening around you. That said, just using one bud is a fine compromise in that case.
The microphone quality is good. They still seem to pick up background noise, but I've had far worse experiences.
The soundcore app has a hearing test to help customize the equalizer to your hearing. After applying that, I find the audio quality is in league with by Bose Around ear headphones.
Connectivity is great, it doesn't matter which pocket my phone is tucked into the signal stays strong.
Battery life is confirmed at 7 hours per bud. If you're using one bud at a time, and you have the other in the case, they promise 28 hours. I guess I haven't run them for 28 hours yet, because I've just charged the case once.
Battery life is very good
Build quality is robust
Wireless charging case
Faster headphone charging within case
Sound quality is good
Isolation can be very good
Highs are very sibilant (improved by HearID but still sibilant/fatiguing if using for extended periods of time, 2+ hrs)
Lows must be boosted if on public transit
Comfort not on par with first gen
Harder to get seal than first gen
EDIT: I got hold on support and they aid me with the issue. I had to reset the data in the earbuds by putting them in the case and holding down the button bottom of the case for 10 seconds untill both earbuds glowed red. Then I was able to see soindcore earbuds in my Bluetooth settings to pair. Right after pairing I got a second popup to pair the other earbud.
Now I love these earbuds and worth the 90$ ( black Friday deal). I use the aukey wireless earbuds for working out and these for commute and working. I find my ears are really small, even with the smallest tips they sometimes come off when working out so that's why I don't use them at the gym.
Tap feature on buds. Still a work in process. Not sure if operator error or product.
Rechargeable case is solid. Only minutes to recharge. Uses C cable technology.
Overall I don’t think you can go wrong with purchasing this product.
If u r a true audiophile just grab these ,u won't disappoint for sure..
I come from a background of Sony 1000xm3, Bose qc 35 , and trust me these are way better than the above.
Yes case quality could have been better..which could give it a more sturdy feel while holding..
I am facing issues with updating firmware, had contacted support team, they are promising for replacement after this Coronavirus scene..will keep you updated
But the connection reliability on these earbuds is horrible. I took them out in public for the first time. With my phone in my pants pocket and no metal items in the path between my ears and my phone, the earbuds continuously disconnecting as I walked around, and even when I was standing still and a cold wind was blowing. I was still wearing them when I got home and popped some food in the microwave and the earbuds immediately disconnected intermittently even though I was nowhere near the microwave. I already updated them to the latest firmware v4.20. I'll be returning these.
Originally purchased in Nov.19. Since then I've returned two pairs and I'm in the process of returning the third pair for a full refund. Here are the issues experienced with all THREE sets.
While on webex, phone calls would randomly disconnect. Sometimes it would disconnect as soon as I dialed the phone number and it would revert to my phones speaker. Only way to "fix" was to disconnect bluetooth, put back in the case and turn on bluetooth. Other times, it would randomly disconnect during the call (e.g. 15min in). There would also be clicking noises coming from the left earbud, forcing me to remove it and only use the right earbud. This happened repeatedly on both on wifi and LTE+. I've also experienced calls where the left earbud would randomly fail, making the right earbud the only option.
Non-webex calls - occasional clicking in left earbud, random disconnection as well. Less frequent than webex but still happens.
Bluetooth - connects pretty fast and easy, however there are connection issues when in densley populated areas (e.g. downtown Toronto). While listening to music (online and saved on my phone) the signal would cut in and out, making listening to music frustrating and useless.
For me, these are all fatal flaws and I've exhausted all options to get them to work as advertised.
I do believe in a balanced review so I will say, when these worked, they were great, here are some other things I think this product does well.
Packaging, extra earbud sizes, case, battery life, music/call sound (when working) and the app exceeded all my expectations.
You may be asking yourself, why go through three pairs!?! The truth is, I really liked these when they worked. Music sound quality was great, call quality too, but the issues mentioned were too great of a liability for me and did impact my work (dropping conference calls I was hosting). Customer service was attentive and responsive. I do wish they were more understanding of the impact and cost to me now that I have to buy another product.
- Sound quality is impressive but you need to make sure to have the right size earbuds attached for a good seal (like with any earbuds) or the bass and sound quality will be dramatically affected. Also audio can be further adjusted to your preference by using the app.
- App is handy to tune the audio and appears to be updated to include a manual EQ now(something others complained it was lacking previously)
- Charging case is compact and good quality...the led's give a lot of feedback and the matte finish seems less prone to fingerprints, etc. It does appear a little more finicky than other devices in terms of it's "Sweet spot" when placed on a wireless charging pad but not too big of a deal.
- Above average selection of earbud sizes (5) which is great because proper fit is essential. I use the XL pair which many other earbuds don't even include.
- Auto-pause sensor when removing an earbud is useful but it would be nice if there was an auto-resume option as well.
- The earbuds are very noise isolating...not much sound gets in or out.
- Poor call noise cancelling. Voice quality is clear to others when in a quiet room but I get constant complaints of background noise when driving (road noise, vent noise).
- Touch controls are limited and finicky. Although you can customize what commands you want to use via the app, you can only choose a total of 4 so essentially you have to give up either volume or track controls. This is disappointing as even many budget earbuds have the full control set. The Liberty's only use either a hold or double tap input...no single tap or triple-tap that could be used to add further commands.
The touch commands themselves are finicky as well and hard to activate consistently....it often doesn't register on the first attempt and then other times it will register inadvertently when you are adjusting or handling the earbuds. The controls overall are the biggest deal breaker imo if there is one. When trying to activate your voice assistant it's not always clear when its ready to receive a command...you don't always get feedback in the earbud so it often takes a couple attempts.
- Connecting can be finicky at times. Both earbuds would work together but I could not get both earbuds paired to my phone separately (so that the L can be used independently) by following the instructions...the pairing popup for the second earbud would never appear. It took some trial and error to eventually get it paired properly There have also been a couple occasions where the buds wouldn't pair together properly when switching or re-pairing between devices requiring them to be put back in the case and re-connected a couple times. Hopefully these are just some initial issues...we will see how the behave with time now that they are finally set up for all devices I'll be using them on.
- No audio pass through which would definitely be welcome. These seal a lot of sound and its not always ideal to have to use a solo earbud so you can still hear outside noises/conversation.
Overall I'm happy with them for the price but there is room for improvement. The limited control set and poor chat noise cancelling prevent a perfect score. An ambient pass through mode would also be very handy.
Always loved the Anker brand but didn't expect such quality in audio department from Soundcore. It just surprised me - the quality, sound, fit & comfort. Everything. Also its easy, clear and great for taking calls. Touch controls work perfectly and intuitive/easy to use.
I don't even find a reason to spend more than double the money for apple airpods! These sound better than them for sure. The base, the soundstage is brilliant.
The best part is HEAR ID function. It is brilliant and the audio is magically better after personalizing it.
The charging case is awesome with magnets and very simple to use. Just like airpods. USB C, matte black finish. Both, the buds and case are lightweight.
Go for these earbuds. Best value for money.
-Sounds relatively good
-Case has wireless charging and USB C charging
-Battery life seems good
- it's very loud in terms of volume
- No noticable lag in audio while watching YouTube
- There's a hiss when the earphones are ready to play audio. It's most noticeable when browsing and the website has audio, and you hear a hiss because there's audio content. Not a fun thing to hear all the time.
- The worst thing is the touch controls. A lot of times they don't register touches.
- phone calls aren't very good for the other person
- the music pauses when you take out am earbud. It's great and very sensitive so it works all the time, but the music doesn't resume when you put the earbud back in so it's quite annoying to me
- cannot connect to two devices at one time
- Touch controls are limited to a total of four actions.
Here's a more detailed review
I mainly bought these because I was not satisfied with the call quality of my Samsung Gear IconX 2018. So a big portion of this review will be in comparison to that.
I make a lot of calls and the callers wouldn't hear me well with the Samsung. The advertising for the Soundcore made it seem like it would be very good at calls. Turns out they're both the same. When comparing the two, the Samsung has better isolation than the Soundcore. The Soundcore picks up more sound, but that also includes background noise so it's not very useful. Also I think that since my Samsung's are about a year old, they're picking up less sound.
In terms of music, I found that the Soundcore are much louder. I had to turn the volume all the way up with my Samsung but the Soundcore is good at less than a quarter so that's good. But I found the audio to be better on the Samsung. Maybe it's the fit, maybe my ears are used to the Samsung but that's what I felt. I'm no audiophile so can't really say much about audio quality. I did find that the Soundcore has more punchier bass which I enjoy.
I don't use earphones for very long periods so can't say much about the battery life but I like being able to charge it wirelessly. Also I like how it announces the battery level when it connects so you have an idea of the battery level. And the case also shows some information about the battery life with the 3 LEDs unlike the Samsung.
I like how they pause the music when you take one earbud out but then it doesn't resume the music when you put it back so I find that quite annoying personally. And as it's so good at detecting when it's removed that the music is paused every time.
Overall for the price they are, I would not recommend them. Unless you find them on a good deal or are restricted in terms of the budget.
