From internationally bestselling author and ""rising star of Southern fiction"" (Mary Alice Monroe, New York Times bestselling author) Kristy Woodson Harvey comes the third novel in her Peachtree Bluff series, in which a secret threatens the tight-knit bond between a trio of sisters and their mother.
With the man of her dreams back in her life and all three of her daughters happy, Ansley Murphy should be content. But she can't help but feel like it's all a little too good to be true.
Meanwhile, youngest daughter and actress Emerson, who is recently engaged and has just landed the role of a lifetime, seemingly has the world by the tail. Only, something she can't quite put her finger on is worrying her--and it has nothing to do with her recent health scare.
When two new women arrive in Peachtree Bluff--one who has the potential to wreck Ansley's happiness and one who could tear Emerson's world apart--everything is put in perspective. And after secrets that were never meant to be told come to light, the powerful bond between the Murphy sisters and their mother comes crumbling down, testing their devotion to each other and forcing them to evaluate the meaning of family.
With Kristy Woodson Harvey's signature charm, wit, and heart, The Southern Side of Paradise is another masterful Peachtree Bluff novel that proves she is a ""Southern writer with staying power"" (Booklist).

After the previous book, I was curious where Harvey was going to take with this book. There were things I was looking forward to happening in this one; things that had to happen. I was scared how they would play out though.
I definitely didn't expect so much in this book. The heartbreak. The healing. The turn of events... I was definitely caught off guard with a few things in this one. They were pleasantly surprising.
I have already formed such a connection with all of the characters in this series, reading their conclusion felt bittersweet. After all of the ups and downs in the series and in this book, I was left with a content smile on my face. I was left knowing that all is right in Peachtree Bluff.
Each of the books focuses its attention on one of three sisters, along with their mother, Ansley. Chapter by chapter you learn a little more about these strong women, their histories, and their families. The Southern Side of Paradise is written from the points of view of Ansley and her youngest daughter, Emerson.
Kristy Woodson Harvey brings a relatability to her characters that draws you in and makes you feel like they are your own family/friends. Throughout the series, I found myself rooting for certain characters, and Southern Side was no exception.
Like in real life, there are ups and downs, happy moments and sad, and enough little secrets and surprises to keep you flipping the pages as fast as you can. I won’t give anything away, but I will say that the ending fit the series perfectly. I am sad to see these characters go, but The Southern Side of Paradise left me with warm memories like those of a great beach vacation.
You are a wonderful author, Kristy! I look forward to reading your new book! It just arrived in the mail!
Oh - this is the first time I've reviewed a book, but it's worth it!
