Streaming is OK, but the DVD is fantastic.
Streaming is OK, but the DVD is fantastic.

In the year 2000 the spaceship Hope One sets off to find new galaxies for colonization. However, an encounter with an alien being and a swarm of meteorites sends the ship streaking off course to an uncharted world. Francine York is 110° in the shade!

The movie is lots of fun. Just pretend you're at the drive-in, and you can turn off your daytime running lights.

Look for the DVD, and you will find it.

Strictly for scifi completists
Spaceship Faith 1 is destroyed on an exploration mission. Spaceship Hope 1 carries on. A hostile alien spaceship is boarded and destroyed. A meteor shower leads to rapid acceleration and damage that results in landing on an earthlike planet for repairs, but overshooting into the water. An exploration that ends in tragedy confirms the planet's suitability for human habitation.

A seemingly serious movie that ends up being humdrum. Title should probably be Space Probe TO Taurus, though the actors refer to Tiros, the earth communicationbs satellite in the news at the time.

Nice Little Adventure
The optimistic adventure found here echoes the space program of the day.

Enjoyed the effects especially the lobsters in the small aquarium passing for sea monsters. Classic. The alien had only one expression on his face and it was angry. Perhaps cheaper than makeup. The usually goofy actor Russ Bender didn't really get any funny lines.

Lots of talk but not boring. Okay diversion. Enjoy if you can find it.

Just my kind of old sci fi :
Black & white, lots of farting around in a tin can space ship, not too depressing or "deep", you know . . . bubble gum and popcorn stuff. What's not to like ?

The only thing wrong with this movie is I have to keep watching it on YouTube because these silly rabbits won't sell me a copy on DVD. I would gladly buy it if I could.

Not bad for its time
This is not just one of those old shoot 'em up monsters and aliens films. This one is much more thoughtful, concentrating on human conflicts and relationships as four people investigate a mystery in space and try to find another planet like Earth.
