• Spending the evening cleaning your car
• Farting into a bottle to see if you can capture it
• Staring at the wall for 2 hours
• Picking the lint out of your belly button
• Picking up trash (an extremely worthy endeavor, no joke intended)
• Playing with your dog, they will devour the extra attention
• Playing with your cat, they will turn their nose up at the extra attention
• Scrubbing your toilet
• Scrubbing your shower
• Planting a tree (another extremely worthwhile endeavor, trees are amazing!)
• Finding things you dont use anymore and give them to someone who needs them
• Cleaning the dust out of your PC/Mac
• Dropping a deuce
• Calling your parents
• Calling your children
• Calling your state representative
• Get to know your neighbor
• Make something, anything, be creative
• Wash your bed sheets
• Feed a homeless person
• Enjoy dinner somewhere, and pay it forward to surprise a random person to make their evening bright
• Staring at the stars if you are fortunate enough to see them, dont take this for granted
• Write the people who made this movie and thank them for their efforts...its better to be nice than a jerk
• Put on an record and listen to some old music, not an MP3, not a CD, not you tube, or a streaming service, but an actual record
• Write a hand written letter to someone you care about. Its more personal this way. They will appreciate it.
• Do a crossword puzzle
• Write reviews on amazon for products you like and/or dislike
• Anything...literally anything you do will be time better spent than watching this
• Have a good one

So Terrible It Is Terrible

I don't mind really low budget films. I don't mind that you can see all the wires when everything and everyone is floating in zero gravity. I think the low budget sets and outlandish costumes are the best part of the movie. Dennis Hopper did this for the pay check and is totally phoning in his performance. This isn't Water World bad, this is just bad. The story is very slow. Repetitive exposition kept occurring. The acting is bad. There is almost no humor in the movie at all. I'm not really sure what they were going for here because there were almost no jokes and the situation was portrayed as serious. I don't recommend.

How B movies were meant to be made.

There is something missing from B movies these days, but this one nails every good feature, of the days of old.

Sure wish there were more B space movies on this level.

Fun old low budget flick

This is the kind of movie that earns a cult following, which is to say it's technically bad...very bad. You can see wires suspending people in some of the weightlessness scenes and physics goes out the window, along with one of the major antagonists being "sucked" (sic blown) ass first into the outer darkness. If you're looking for something fun, hokey, campy and just brainlessly funny you've found it. You'll either love it or hate it, but I doubt you'll find anything else like it.

One of the last corny Sci Fi movies of the 90s
Verified purchase
I remember when this movie came out and watched it while I was in college. It was also a favorite movie of my dad.

There is quite a bit of good acting talent in this movie - Charles Dance, George Wendt, Dennis Hopper. The special effects are laughable and there are times when you can see the wires from floating props. This movie could have been taken directly from a Cowboy Bebop episode, which is why I find it entertaining.

The movie is corny, acting is ridiculous, and the story is far-fetched. If you are fan of Dennis Hopper and screwball Science Fiction, this might be a good fit for you. This movie is very much a live action Anime story about corporate greed and rogue military technology run amok.. If you're looking for something more serious like Alien, Blade Runner, or a movie with deeper philosophical themes, you'll likely be quite disappointed. 4 stars.

It's nice to see actors having fun doing silly but not bad in the 'ole special effects department stunts, gags, and corniness all around....made me smile...some famous actors too. Thanks for the fun.

There's a world here lost on a pull start dick...

For 1997 the CG, the sets pieces, the costumes and the talent were all top notch. Something happened in this script and direction. Grinding tonal shit like a teenager learning a clutch, all the close ups hiding real sets -- even tho "cheap" looking should've been on display much more. Loved the misc. debris just hanging via fishing wire in the "cab"... However, all ruined by a pull start dick for a failed rape gag... Oof. Fun AF but oof...

Difficult to watch. Oh the pain.

Quite simply a film which never should have been made. It's precisely what it sounds like. The the story was dismal, the art direction were modestly crappy, the acting only slightly better... The one bright spot are the miniature effects which are generally excellent out of the UK where skilled model makers have always been plentiful. I assumed this was a cheesy UK series at first, and was impressed by the production values (under that mistaken assumption)... but for $25M I thought it was dismal (Star Wars and Alien only cost only $11M each just 19 years prior). Dear Lord... why?
