So terrible

We thought this movie might be awful d I’m the reviews, but gave it a shot since we are boat enthusiasts and were interested in the Donald Aranow story. The “plot” ? makes no sense. There is no story and the accuracies around the boating we’re almost non-existent.

True Story - SPEED kILLS - about Miami and life in the fast lane.
Verified purchase
I lived in SE Florida when Miami & Ft. Lauderdale were like the "wild west" days out West after the American Civil War.
The story was pretty true to what I know happened but the acting was second class. Definitly not Travolta's best effort. And several of the other charatcers were played by what I would consider B-list actors.
So, if you know nothing about these days in Miami you will probably like it more than I did.
People who live in SE Florida and remember Don Aranow and his go-fast boat companies may be disappointed.

Pretty bad

Really disappointed in Travolta's acting. This was a bad movie all the way around. Whether it is true or not, it was really disjointed in the story.

Sub-par Offering

As a huge follower of the performance boat scene, the movie line has potential to be a great story. Don Aronow is a pioneer in the industry, and the depiction of his persona could be a hit. However, that's where this film falls short. The horrible attempt to re-create scenes from the 1970's & 80's is widely apparent. Think a movie scene from 1960 using modern day vehicles and buildings. It doesn't work! The boat chase looks to be something from a 70's film using a bad video image played on a green-screen. I wanted to see it to simply see how they did..... EPIC FAIL! I'd rather have saved my money.
