Crude, disgusting, and NOT Starsky & Hutch. Negative 100-stars if I could.

First off, this was so mind-numbingly boring that I couldn't finish watching. So NOT Starsky & Hutch in any way, shape, or form. Starsky was not a narrow-minded, zealous, walking rule book. Hutch was not a slacker and while he did have an eye for the ladies. he was not a grab-ass. Huggy was a street-level hustler who knew people who knew people, not a rich drug dealer. Cap'n Dobey was a straight-forward, hard-working cop who yes, gave the guys a chewing-out when they deserved it, but he didn't yell just to yell. Yet, that is what this POS movie would have you believe.

OTOH, I will give credit for the overall "look" (except for Rich!Huggy). The clothes and the sets were actually very good. The Starsky run-down at the start was SO much the Paul Michael Glaser that the guy playing the role must have practiced quite a bit for it.

All in all, very sad that TEN 'Tomatoes' had to die for this.

Perfect !

I loved it. Anyone who grew up watching Starsky and Hutch will appreciate the era represented and especially all the great old school music played throughout the movie. The characters were meant to be somewhat slapstick, not in form with the original series which was about 2 cool detectives, but imo it works perfectly. A few spots will make you burst out laughing, and the icing on the cake (with no spoilers) was at the very end of the movie when you look up and go, "oh my god!".. again, no spoilers. I'm sure I'll watch this again. Well edited directed and written, and they picked the perfect actors to play Starsky and Hutch... and Huggy Bear.

Missing scenes

I absolutely love this movie which I already have but is scratched so I bought this one , on sale, new, sold by Amazon .
Many, many parts scenes were edited. It was not as good as the regular HBO /SHO/max version I have also.
I don’t know why. It made the movie really lousy and boring.
I agree with the LGBTQ scene. They could have removed the porn and added one of the nicer , friendlier scenes.
I give one star for THIS PARTICULAR DVD THAT I PURCHASED; as for the movie -the long, regular version is def a winner! Hysterical!
I’m a fan of both actors, they work great together. Good movie ; just not the one I bought.

dumb movie that ruined what was at the time a good television series

What should I have expected with the same group together in this movie? First of all there were LGBTQ scenes which were completely unnecessary. This could have been a light hearted comedy but heavy sexual content had to be added. This movie was trying to be funny but fell very short. I'm glad I did not have to pay for it.

Hoppin Frog Brewery Founder was a miniture Starsky in 70's - Hit Series

Watched this every week and my nephew loved it and imitated Starsky for years; he was maybe 10 yrs old. Now his brewery has been in the worlds top 100 over 10 yrs running. He is still a look alike and imitates. Amazing to see this again. The Gran Torino was imitated by numerous owners. This was a BIG popular series that took away viewers of Man from U.N.C.L.E. Umited Network Command..Law Enforcement and It Takes a Theif - 2 other popular series until Starsky & Hutch. See HoppinFrog dot com for the look-a-like. He had the sunglasses and all, and everyone seemed to notice the look-a-like and was offend approached and mentioned by strangers. The show was POLULAR.

Better than expected

I delayed watching this simply because I figured it would be beyond lame, but it was actually okay. As a fan of Stillers. and once of Wilson, the two make a good team. It would be nice to see them collaborate in something current. Carmen Electra was 'clearly' too old to be one of the cheerleaders. It looked ridiculous to have her play such a character. Overall score is a C. Take it for what it is, silliness.

Nothing redeming about this movie.

Most of the attempts at humor failed miserably only resulting in a sleugh of awkward moments. I did think Zoolander was a successful comedy so why not Starsky and Hutch? Not so.

Prime video has yet to impress me. Old crappy, poorly made, not true to the original shit shows like this one is all that's here. This movie was horrible. I loved the original Starsky and Hutch. This movie is disgusting, fake, and not at all anything like the real starsky and hutch. Negative 10000000000 if I could for both amazon for posting this garbage and the producers who made it. I was only able to watch the first 5-10 minutes before stopping the torture.
