Moving into a rundown Victorian house with a vampire living in the basement isn’t as bad as I thought, but things go from weird to weirder when a badly injured gnome collapses in my back yard.

If I can’t avoid her wrath and find a way to cure the gnome, Nin’s going to lose her grandfather, and I’m going to end up deader than the vampire in the basement.

I like this series. It was a whim to try this out and I ended up enjoying it way more than I thought I would. The writing is good, the idea is amazingly fun to follow. I loved the slow burn romance and then how fast things went. I enjoyed the bad guys and the different tasks needed to get done. And I like how everything kinda fell into place.

However, I have listened to or read all the previous books in this series and this ones been the best so far.

Had this been the final book in the series, that would have been ok, as it was brilliant, but more are coming! The next one is out now, so I'm off to read it, but seriously, read this series.
I wasn't completely sure how I'd find it at the start (I don't normally read much set in the roughly present day), but it worked so much better than I expected.
The characters are interesting, nuanced, and even after 6 books, still have room for more exposition.

The conclusion of many of the storylines here was very enjoyable, the writing is well paced, and there were no content errors to jar me out of the world. Thoroughly enjoyed!
