Editorial Reviews

"Love Diane's new book! Her approach is one that very much aligns with ours: let your curiosity lead the conversation. Sales occur much more naturally when you do so. Pick up Succeed Without Selling. You won't be disappointed"
- Jason Bay, Chief Prospecting Officer of Blissful Prospecting

"There is so much to applaud in Diane Helbig's new book, Succeed Without Selling. Diane has created a pathway which travels along the new rules of selling that is incredibly well signposted and so easy to follow. The old rules for buyer-seller engagement have been consigned to the annals of history and sadly, whilst buyers have changed the way they prefer to buy, most sellers are still clinging on to approaches and methodology that are now completely redundant. As an example, Diane urges us to forget "Always be closing" and rather focus on "Always be curious" This is a must-read for both seasoned frontline sales professionals and students alike."
- Jonathan Farrington, Founder & CEO of JF Initiatives (Top Sales World, Top Sales Magazine & Top Sales Futurists)

"P-r-a-c-t-i-c-a-l. That's how you spell the secrets to success by Diane Helbig. Diane demystifies successful sales with advice any small business person can follow. This book is Exhibit A as to why Diane has been such a valued columnist at Small Business Trends--for years! Every small business owner interested in boosting revenue should get this book today!"
- Anita Campbell, CEO of Small Business Trends

"If you aren't closing the sales you want, you might be doing it wrong. In Succeed Without Selling Diane gets straight to the point about what works, and what doesn't work in today's marketplace along with tactics you can use to improve your results."
- Kevin Kruse, Founder and CEO of LeadX

"Curiosity and trust are two of the most vital sales accelerators that all small business owners must adopt if they want to win in today's marketplace. But how often do we push aside curiosity just to close the deal? Diane Helbig does a remarkable job of uncovering this critical approach to sales that will shift your mindset from how we've traditionally be taught to sell! Succeed Without Selling will open your eyes to the truth about how to sell successfully regardless of industry, business size, or prospect base. I highly recommend it!"
- Mike Mooney, Driving People Forward, Author of Reputation Shift

"A terrific book. With trademark clarity and insight, Diane Helbig teaches the new mindset that is required for sales success in today's business world. Te practical yet powerful examples show how to bring this fresh approach to life in any organization, small or large."
- Shane Spiers, Summit SCALE

"It's a new economy. The "Winter" economy as proposed by the late Chet Holmes. Business approaches that worked in the Fall economy will not work in the Winter economy. Diane has done an amazing job of breaking down the sales and sales management process for these times. Her approach is client-centric and focuses on how to serve the client rather than how to close them. And by doing so, create long-lasting and profitable relationships. This book is a must-read for anyone who is involved in the art of selling. And if you own a business, you are selling! Without a doubt reading this book will be a worthy investment of your time!"
- Williard Barth, Author, Business Consultant, and Transformation Expert

What I love about this book is that author Diane Helbig gives principles and tactics for every stage of the sales process. Her resources pages at the end of the book provide you with the guidance needed to actually work on and identify what makes your product or service unique as well as your narrowing in on your target audience.
In the book, Diane covers prospecting information for using LinkedIN, networking, strategic alliances and getting and giving referrals properly. There are special chapters for sales managers, direct sellers, service providers, retail sales and franchisors/franchisees.
Early in my career I was in sales and absolutely hated having to try to memorize closing scripts... a bunch of different variations of what to say in certain circumstances. Diane reframes the entire sales process so we can be more authentic in our approach to talking with and listening to prospects. I especially agree with her advice that email should not be the first way you connect with someone.
Many solopreneurs struggles with having to "sell" their own products. Grab a copy of Diane's book and you will feel totally different about the entire process.
- Pat Altvater, AFP Marketing; Soar to Success Magazine; and Elite Experts Network

Diane has always had a way with words. Telling it like it is without telling us we're dumb. Her straight forward, honest approach to sharing what she knows, and how things work, really gives one a level of education and self-value that can help not only the individual but those that the individual is serving. I have always appreciated Diane's direct approach and thorough explanations on how to be better. In Succeed Without Selling, she hit the mark again. I am not a salesperson but feel that with this book, she's made it almost easy for the one selling. I recommend this read to anyone who has anything to sell. It's to the point, no fluff and easy to understand. I value time, so believe me, this is worth the money and time investment. It was my absolute pleasure to work with her on this and I can't tell you how many companies and individuals could use her tips, scripts, and guidance.
- Amber J. Chapman AJC Copywriting & Editing Family Matters with Amber

"I started reading Succeed Without Selling and must say you are quite an authority. You could go one-on-one with anyone in your field." - David Kadar

When I was a young girl, I didn’t have just a lemonade stand. I had a lemonade and candy business. In my early teens I created a day camp for the neighborhood kids. My entrepreneurial spirit has been developing ever since. My family moved every year; sometimes across town and other times across the country.

I credit my ability, and interest in, meeting people with these experiences. After all, I was always in a position where I had to meet kids and make friends. My business career has always been in small business where I have enjoyed positions in leadership as well as sales.

I have taken the lessons she learned from those experiences and added them to my consulting and training practice. As I watched business owners, department leaders and sales professionals struggle to succeed I became highly motivated to do something about it. In late 2005 my father passed away. That was a turning point for me. I decided at that moment to venture off on my own and launch a consulting business. In addition to being driven to help business professionals overcome challenges, I wanted more time and flexibility with my young children.

My mission is to improve the world one small business at a time while raising spectacular humans who contribute to society. To that end I have developed a number of content outlets where I can bring knowledge, tips, and information to small business owners, as well as business leaders, around the world. And, I could not be more proud of my now adult children, Aaron and Macey.

As president of Helbig Enterprises, I help businesses and organizations operate more constructively and profitably. I evaluate, encourage, and guide my clients. I am an international business and leadership development consultant, author, award winning speaker, podcast host, and trainer.

I work with my clients to create, implement, and monitor individualized strategies that result in better communication, increased performance, and greater results. I serve as a trusted advisor and guide, helping my clients see the value in changing their behavior. My clients find themselves achieving incredible successes – many beyond what they had previously believed were possible. I bring over 20 years of small business management and sales experience to my consulting.

I believe that each business professional is an individual. They bring their own dreams, challenges, and beliefs with them to their role. This is why the strategies they create are specific to them. Business is business. And leadership is leadership. How each person approaches their growth is individual. No canned systems here! My work is uniquely developed for each client.

With my book, Succeed Without Selling, I take on the realities of selling. Sales as it has been taught throughout history is ineffective. Discovery is really the way toward success for small business owners and sales professionals.

In my book, Lemonade Stand Selling, I offer a straightforward, common sense and clear guide to the sales process. I remind my readers that selling is as easy as when you had that lemonade stand as a child.

Through my podcast, Accelerate Your Business Growth, I bring valuable, actionable information to my listeners. My book, Expert Insights includes details of ten of the most listened to episodes of this podcast.

As a speaker and trainer, I merge energy and enthusiasm with rich content. My goal is to leave my audience with actionable steps as well as the excitement to implement those steps. I have expertise in small business, sales, social media, networking, and leadership.

I am a member of the Newsweek Expert Forum, and a member of the International Association of Sales Trainers. I am a contributor to Roofing Magazine and Soar To Success Magazine.

I am also the proud recipient of the following awards:

• 2016 Corporate Event Speaker of the Year Award

• 2020 Achievements in Excellence Award

• 2021 Bronze Stevie Award for Female Solo Entrepreneur of the Year

• 2021 Silver Stevie Award for Female Thought Leader of the Year in the Business Services category

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesomely practical for small business owners!
By Anita Campbell on June 28, 2020
There are about 31 million small business owners in the U.S. -- and most of them hate selling. Out of necessity they have to sell, but feel uncomfortable because they've been told they have to go for the close, cold call or do other activities that don't feel natural to them. The author's approach will be a much better fit for most small business people. It's based on concepts like listening carefully, building relationships and demonstrating value that attracts serious buyers. You definitely should get this book. I especially like the worksheets at the end. They even come across well in the Kindle version of the book.
