The Unfolding Rail Is Ridiculously Hard To Operate
Reviewed in the United States on September 12, 2018
I wish I heeded the one star review that said the folding bedrail is near impossible to take down. Instead, I paid more attention to others that gave four and five star reviews; they glossed over that issue by simply saying the unfolding mechanism isn’t very user friendly. That’s an understatement—I wholeheartedly agree with the one star reviewer—trying to raise the pins that unfold the rail is ridiculously hard and extremely frustrating. We simply leave the rail up because no one can unlock the pins.
Other than that, this rail was easy to assemble and relatively easy to set up under our queen size mattress. Still, having one unfolding side was a main reason I purchased this. We have lots of grand kids who use these rails in our spare bedrooms—it’s a pain in the neck getting in and out of the bed that uses these particular rails. As a result, changing the sheets isn't easy either.
We still use an old Fisher Price rail in another bedroom—it’s almost thirty years old, but the lift-up mechanism that unlocks the rail to fold down still works like a charm and it requires zero effort. We wonder why Summer Infant couldn’t make something similar.
