Did she just top Wicked?!?!?

Yes she did! I loved the Wicked series. I read each as they came out. Why in the world did I wait so long to read this follow up? It was even better!

First, I am incredibly glad that Tink moved in wirh Brighton. Tink is without a doubt, the most fantastic character JLA has written. We wouldn’t be anywhere without his glittering wit. I just love him. I am so glad he was still such a intricate part of this series!

I avoided this series a long while because I genuinely thought I would not like Caden. Boy, was I WRONG. He was everything we expect, and more, from the swoon worthy badasses JLA creates. I should’ve known she would never let me down. Caden is now well up at the top of my list of favorites.

I felt like the wrap up with the Wicked series left it open for more, and I still feel after wrapping the Summer King, we still could see more from this world. After all, the Queen is still out there!!! Fingers crossed ;)

I'm writing this review because I am 20% into the bundle and have already found 3 sentences that make no sense.
The editing leaves much to be desired imo.
The author is great. I read another of her books recently and was very entertained by it.
However.... Even just 20% into the book/bundle, I feel the need to point out to the author that these need to be edited more carefully.
I bought the bundle instead of buying the 3 books separately because it was cheaper, and because USUALLY the books are edited again as they are put into a bundle format. However, that doesn't seem to be the case this time and it's making my eye twitch in frustration as I read - because it cripples story immersion when you have to stop and reread a sentence and rearrange it in your head to make sense before continuing. It's jarring and unpleasant.

Please, Jennifer, have this edited by a FRESH pair of eyes and release (update it) it again once it's error free.

Now that I've said my piece, I'll continue reading and hope that this book is as entertaining as the last I read of yours despite the jarring errors :)

This series has it all. Romance, heartbreak, betrayal, strong friendships and amazing characters.
It follows Brighton Jussier and Caden The Summer (Prince) King as they both try to adjust after the battle with The Winter Queen Morgana. It's a truly beautiful love story between 2 people so different but yet so connected as they both struggle for revenge against the Fae that hurt them.
It's so full of twists and turns that could break a person but they always have each others back and love won't be denied. A truly wonderful series and I highly recommend it to all.

I read this book before I read the Wicked series. I liked the fact that it mentioned big events that happened in the Wicked series, however, it didn't go into detail and therefore, was very intriguing. A lot of things made sense when I did read the Wicked series after, but I still enjoyed the route I went with this. I really like the way the author writes and how it's an easy read. She really puts a lot of detail and thought into her books. She really knows how to create the scene and build a world. I love how the characters are able to emotional connect with their own life experiences. Although the pages kept falling out, it did not stop me from reading this book and continuing on with the Wicked series. I would recommend.

I really enjoyed these stories. Actually, I think I liked these better than the Wicked series. I liked Brighton and Caden. And unlike Wicked there wasn't a slow down after the trauma. However, I didn't give the books 5 stars due to some pretty big plot holes. I have questions.

***Spoiler Alert****

How come Caden couldn't find Brighton when she was with Aric? He should have been able to track her, right?
Aric said giving the Summer Kiss to a human was outlawed. But after sanitary losing the baby it was ok because she was his mate? Everyone was just ok with it?

I was so happy to start these novellas. I loved the Wicked series and was so desperate to read more about everyone.

I didn’t really connect with Brighton much in the Wicked series, but I loved her in these novellas. She’s so strong. She proves herself again and again. And it wasn’t easy for her. My heart went out to all the things she went through. But I was so proud of her character.

I hated Caden in the Wicked series because he was an ass. Even though.... it technically wasn’t his fault, I still didn’t like him. However, he definitely changed my mind. I love how he cared for Brighton. He wanted to protect her. He helped her. It was more than I hoped for.

These novellas had twists and turns and I’m just so happy I got to read them! I highly recommend everyone to read this!

I. Am. So. In. Love. With. This. Series!!! This whole world JLA created is absolutely INCREDIBLE! I could read so much more of both the main couples of this series and I would still never have enough. I didn’t think I could really get into the “fae” world but JLA proved me SO wrong because I am literally so crazy in-love with the world she created and the characters!! Caden and Brighten are most definitely my favorite though and that was crazy unexpected!

The Wicked novellas can be read individually of the original trilogy, but for the best reading experience, I would recommend reading the Wicked trilogy first!

If you liked this book, I'd recommend checking out the author's other works as well. I enjoy reading all of Jennifer L. Armentrout's series and have made it a goal to own physical copies of all her books because they're genuinely that good.
