“Joy/Appreciation/Empowered/Freedom/Love” taken from the Emotional Guidance Scale really are not emotions but rather the inner states of Being.

I have years of history using the method called as a "Choose Again" described in the book, as Ive been using it in the beginning of my journey more than three years, diligently and on a daily basis. I’ve encountered the emotional scale and the method itself in beginning of 2015 in books written by Greg Kuhn (“How Quantum Physicists Build New Beliefs: Your Personal Coaching Guide to Truly and Fully Unleash the Law of Attraction” and “Why Quantum Physicists Do Not Fail”), where he provided identical method and emotional scale taken from Jerry and Esther Hicks book “Ask and It is Given: Learning to Manifest Your Desires”. Greg was offering the same method which called “choose a better feeling story” - you recognize the experienced emotion, and you reach out for the the better feeling thought available to you at that moment. Continuously entertaining a different kind of thoughts meant to change ingrained old subconscious beliefs, which have the impact what kind of thoughts we think, and ultimately experience them as emotions in the body.
I was using the “choose a better feeling story” initially for 2 or 3 core issues (career, love, money), writing daily in my journal how I see the issue through the particular emotion in the emotional scale, and every 2-3 days choosing higher emotion and going up the emotions scale, and during the daily activities trying to look through the higher emotion. And practicing on a daily basis this method I was sometimes 50 times choosing a different thought to replace the existing and enhance the emotion. This sometimes was leading to the frantic inner state wanting to change how you feel, like "negative" emotions had been the ones we wanted to get rid of as soon as possible, because “oh boy, you will attract bad things”. At that point I only started to recognize that I'm not my emotional states. And it’s only years later, maybe after 3 years of using it I’ve stumbled on one Eckhart Tolle book "The Power of Now", where I’ve got my AHA moment, and the realisation that what he was talking about already happened in my life. That I have nothing really to change, just stop deriving my self identity from thoughts and emotions, allowing them to be as they are.

Nothing that comes and goes is you.

“I am angry, sad, afraid.” Who knows this?

Gabrielle mentions Eckhart Tolle, but Eckhart nowhere mentions that our job is to work on changing our emotions or thoughts, as well as many other authors I’ve read in years, like Jeff Foster, Joan Tollifson, Adyashanti, Dirk Hessel, Michael R. Rodriguez, and many others.

I’ve felt that I've overgrown this method, which was really based on the “outside-in” mentality, wanting to change the thoughts to have a different outer results. Actually many coaching practises are based on the Thought Model - offering a different, better feeling thought, expecting that the actions would change correspondingly.
Even though I see the “choose again” method positively, and genuinely recommend to read it as there's many good points and advises. People who will use the "choose again" method will "force" them to direct their attention inwards, feel the inner body, withdrawing their attention (and consciousness) from the past or future and feel really their emotions. When we do that, we really beginning more live in the present moment, in the Now, and we will develop the habit keep out attention inwards, becoming that still, untouched space in which thoughts and emotions can arise freely.

If you want the REAL DEAL not a MEAL DEAL go to the sources Bernstein cites on every other page - Abraham Hicks and A Course in Miracles. Or a lot cheaper just grab a bible. I am not a Christian and I also understand that the bible is not an easy read. So, for anyone who has not already read a book about manifesting or the Law of Attraction or positive thinking, this might be worth reading.
One thing I love about this book is it’s raw and honest with real life experiences to back up the message and advice she is teaching. It’s not one of these quick fix books and she makes that abundantly clear.
She tells you her mishaps and how she learnt from it and applied her principles to fix it. And I love that honestly because the examples in here we can all relate to one or more. It’s also fun. I picked this up in a crappy mood, I now feel optimistic.
Also, she’s explained many types of manifestors, manic manifesters, fearful ones and I never knew I was in those catorgies, and now I understand why some of my biggest desires haven’t manifested! I can now learn to break free from that.
It’s an easy read and whether you’re in your 20s, 60s or 14 you’d be able to understand this book.
Also we have the same name, so sometimes I think she’s speaking directly at me- that’s just an extra bonus for me!
Gabby, like me is a huge advocate for Abraham Hicks and mentions this in the first few pages and Abraham advises and to focus on feelings and feelings of excitement, joy exhilaration are signs you are in alignment. The feel I got from this book was "Everything is going to be ok with this book by your side" and as if to evidence this I was literally book in hand and I was dropped a bombshell that gave me the sensation of nausea in my gut and almost instantly that sensation was replaced with "It's Ok, use the tools in this book and you will be ok"
That's why I call it a manual, not just a book
For years I have been an avid eBook buyer but I bought this "Manual" in hard back form because I felt I need to jot on it and take notes but now I am going to buy the audible version so I can access it's "Gem's of Wisdom" from anywhere
Gabby is so inspirational to me because she is relatable and walks her talk unlike other people I have found far less famous and well known. She speaks her truth and admits she is human and slips back in to old patterns of being out of alignment and I personally appreciate she reply's to every comment I have made on her social media posts when other say they do and from personal experience don't
