Great first start.
Great first episode.

I hope they keep it clean and wholesome; that is, without gender confusion and same sex relationships ruining the series like Supergirl did.

This is uncharted territory in Superman lore.

I was skeptical. How many different Supermen do we need? But I love this! Casting is great. Storylines are original.

Impressed and Excited
Loved every minute of it. Very cinematic feel to it. Unlike many other hero shows on the CW, this one seems to have a decent budget, and it's not hokey at all. You can tell they took pride in showing a new story while still paying tribute to what we've seen in other Superman movies and tv. Biggest complaint about Supergirl is how weak they make her, and she always needs so much of everyone's approval. The 1938-ish opening costume was epic. I hope they don't over-do-it with the kryptonite, like Smallville did. I have a feeling they won't. Plus, Elizabeth Tulloch is the best Lois I've seen, next to Margot Kidder.

Super Start to a Super Series
Superman’s origin story is so well known that I’m glad they skipped it here. Instead we get a new spin on a tale that’s known the world over. In this series, Superman and Lois have twin 15-year old boys and they must balance work life, family life and Superman’s extracurricular activities without their kids knowing their father’s secret identity. The show focused on the family dynamics but when they did show Superman doing heroic deeds, the effects were quite capable and convincing. There were also many great references to the comics that were so much fun for Superman fans. This show is a bit more somber than the other CW shows and I’m glad, the end result makes the show stand apart as something different and new. There were two reveals in the show that made me excited for what’s to come. If the show continues to be different from the other arrowverse shows, I will definitely continue watching! A strong start to a new show!

superman got laid off
A bit corny at moments , takes you out of the experience at places because the younger characters interactions just don't feel legitimate for the circumstances. However, besides those moments the show is entertaining showing superman in a less indestructible, less perfect very human way. Its kind of got a marvel avengers well if there's something powerful things our going to come looking to test themselves against it vibe, superman feels uber powerful as he should but his weaknesses are on full display he feels mentally and physically outmatched , with obvious emotional distraction from his family. The actor really stepped up his game as superman compared to early times showing up in other shows like supergirl i honestly take back my "not him again" he has grown into the role in my opinion.

Off to a very nice start!
It's got the modern aesthetic sense of "Man of Steel," but its heart and soul is all classic Superman. Hoechlin and Tulloch both nail their iconic roles. It's also legitimately telling a Superman story we haven't seen yet on screen, which is impressive considering the character's been around for over 80 years. Can't wait to see more.
