Excellent, solid documentary series on amazing ships.

I really, really loved this series, and my only disappointment is that there was only one season.

Each episode starts by giving you an overview of all the different neat things about, or going on, onboard a particular ship. And then they talk about each system or area in depth. Lots of good interviews with people involved, great cinematography to give you the feel of being there, and a pretty good technical overview of each interesting aspect of the ship.

It's also not overly-dramatized, like many more recent documentary series. Definitely worth a look if you like good, solid documentaries about transport technology.

The technology is amazing.

We have been enjoying this show very much. Never knew there was such a gigantic ferry boat for cars and trucks operating between Ireland and Wales. We just saw another episode about The Cat - another type of very fast ferry boat that glides on the water. The technology is amazing.

HUGE WONDERS on the water!!

I NEVER knew that the transportation and shipping industry has such an huge advantage by building mega ships that delivers raw materials through out the U.S AND THE WORLD , and haven't watched the entire series but my favorites are the Dublin Ferry: the ferry that transport trucks, cars and people and doubles as a "cruise ship". Another favorite of mine is THE CAT it has the characteristics of large transportation ship but known as speed boat with thrusters.

Not the latest, but definitely cool!

This series is extremely interesting for huge ship enthusiasts. It features different ships than those shown on National Geographic's 'Megastructures: Megaships' or Discovery's 'Mighty Ships'.

So, it is worth the time if you are interested in some Superships from the 2000s. Beware though, when they call a ship as the 'biggest and the best' as it may not be true. We are watching this older series in 2017.

If you enjoy marine design

If you enjoy marine design, engineering, construction, and operation this is a fantastic series. There are operating ships that many don't even know exist. Remarkable we can build equipment of this size and scope. I would love to see similar series and particularly one about aviation.

Impressive Engineering Accomplishments Showcased
Verified purchase
If you like engineering topics, if you like nautical themes, then this is definitely for you. We're certainly upping the risks with these engineering feats, but progress is a matter of two steps forward one step back in a lot of cases. Great motivational material for kids deciding on a future career. Exciting stuff!

Good information.

This show has some good info. I like watching informational TV and when nothing else is on this is a good option. This series features a variety of ships and gives the broad info to provide everyone with a good understanding. Skme of the ships featured would otherwise remain unknown to many. It is interesting to see some of these ships work on screen. I wish I could see them up close.

What can I say...if you are interested in 'how things are made" type shows and ships are your thing I would recommend this.
It boggles my mind the scale of these projects. I would have never found this without my trusty FireTV.
