ONLY 62 pages with 100 photos, many of individual tools he uses like, string, sandpaper, saw blades, (things you couldn't quite imagine on your own WITHOUT the pictures) and published in 16pt. type! no less.
VERY BITTER! MY OWN FAULT! SHOULD HAVE AN AGE RATING! ALL BEWARE! ALL BE FOREWARNED!
I'll give this to my 10 year old, redheaded, twin nephews to torment the pesty squirrels in the neighborhood.
First of all, the author is NOT 14 years old. He is married and has a child. He has also written several other good books that are quite unique and creative. I have most of them and think they are quite good!
This book is on making what are more commonly called "spear guns" using readily available, inexpensive materials. Essentially just surgical tubing and PVC pipe. There are several different styles and a couple of spear designs. The resulting spear slings are not for long range shooting or hunting. Not quite enough accuracy. For short range shooting, they work pretty well.
The ideas are quite creative. I am particularly fond of books like this that present ideas using re-purposed materials for making outdoor projects.
I would have give the book five stars, but I think the price is a bit high. I think under $10 would be about right, but still, you are not getting ripped off at the regular Amazon price. Maybe he will produce a Kindle version.
