About Susan Segovia-Munoz
Susan Segovia-Munoz is from Los Angeles, California. The Sweet Melissa Memoir Series is her first project but it certainly isn’t her last. The series is an unfiltered story of a lifetime of self-destruction, continuously falling and failing, yet overcoming adversity while struggling with the stigma of mental illness, incarceration, and addiction. Learning from the bottom up and always the hard way, things are finally starting to develop a shine of their own. The author tells all, including many humiliating experiences leaving nothing out! From a homeless junkie to a law abiding citizen, this author is working hard to show that anything is possible and that it is her "Time to Shine!" She hopes to give inspiration and hope to all. Susan has a lot of stories to tell, and she is working hard to bring them to the silver screen. Visit her website for more information and updates. https://www.susansegoviamunoz.com

Blog postI have been working far too many hours each day. I don’t want to fall off track or get even further behind schedule, but every once in a while I feel like I need to take some “ME TIME” and walk away from my office and studio. It’s funny and I feel almost hypocritical because I tell myself that stepping away from work for a while will be good for me, but I really enjoy my work. There really isn’t anything else that I would rather be doing. Whenever I try to mix it up and do some4 years ago Read more

Blog postSomeone Like Me-Is there a connection between addiction and mental illness? I say there is!Some people say that addiction is a choice, but I know for a fact that it’s not. Mental illness plays a big part in a persons decision making process and lifestyle choices. I am now in the middle of writing my 7th book and I will explain in detail how my chemically imbalanced mind thinks and reacts. Well, at least how mine did before treatment
anyway! Sure, I am no pro and I am not a doctor, b4 years ago Read more -
Blog postI am in the middle of writing or shall I say rewriting Book One. I left out so many things and so so much emotion and descriptive value that I thought I would give it another try! I have reunited with certain people (all are doing good and drug-free) and somehow memories have resurfaced and I felt the need to share! So, I am about mid way through my new book, “Someone Like Me” and I am hoping to have it available in March sometime or at the latest April! I am recording Book 2 right n4 years ago Read more

Blog postWhen you work for yourself...I think I need more hours in the day or possibly someone to help me. I am determined to do this on my own and since I am so stubborn I have to keep fixing things as they pop up or are pointed out to me. I guess people don’t realize that I ran the streets for decades and didn’t go to college. It’s a struggle but I am driven. I wrote the Sweet Melissa Series as a learning experience and as an outline for what’s to come. I continue to learn4 years ago Read more

Blog postWhy are reviews so hard to get? That’s what I would like to know! It seems as though Amazon won’t let someone leave a review unless they have spent a certain amount of money on the site. Also, family members and of course the author can’t leave reviews either. I wonder why some authors have reviews that straight out mention that they are related and right there in the actual review! I don’t understand!!!!!!! Why are certain reviews being removed while others aren’t? I am trying5 years ago Read more

Blog postIt is no SECRET that I am not college EDUCATED. I could have been but I chose a different DARKER path. I have made TERRIBLE and HUMILIATING choices for much of my LIFE. I am STUBBORN and that trait has gotten me into one PROBLEM after another. I had always thought that my lack of CONCENTRATION and my IMPULSIVE nature was due to BOREDOM and the need for EXCITEMENT and even DANGER. Blog postThe Importance of a ReviewAs a READER, I myself never left a REVIEW. Now, as an AUTHOR, I understand the importance and VALUE of the review system. Sometimes people look at your reviews and when they see that there are only a FEW they think that your book must not be very GOOD or that no one is BUYING it. That is NOT always the case. Most people do not a LEAVE review. I read somewhere that you are LUCKY if 1 out of every 100 readers will leave a review. Well,5 years ago Read more

Blog postEMOTIONAL and DRAININGI am in the midst of WRITING the final book of my "SWEET MELISSA" memoir series. I have come to the PART where I am writing a letter HOME to my PARENTS. Fortunate for me, my MOTHER saved ALL of my letters that I had written to her. Unfortunate for me, MY letters from HER were DESTROYED due to multiple CELL searches over the YEARS. It is so STRANGE to read letters that I had written 13 years ago. My INSECURITY and LOW SELF-5 years ago Read more

If you shoot too much HEROIN,
You’ll soon be blue too...
I can’t stop using heroin. I spent nine months in the hole all by myself and I still want to use. What’s wrong with me? I need to get high. I overdosed in another inmate’s cell - blue - and was left alone to die in prison. I don’t know why, but heroin is the only thing that I want.
