~~Excellent collection of novels~~

This collection contains 9 authors and as a bonus for me....4 of them are new. So, lots of reading to go before I finish this set.

"Braving the Wild Elements' by Susan Jean Ricci is the one I have read so far...A five star read and my title for the review 'When Fizzle turns to Sizzle'.

Excellent read and as is the norm with this author, she always has her grasp on human nature and tosses in humorous moment to make the reader laugh.

Sometimes when plans must be canceled for a celebration, things work out for the best. This one has a 4th of July celebration that has to be canceled due to a hurricane that appears to be imminent. So, the plan for celebration does indeed fizzle but as the reader will find out, the aftermath is indeed a 'sizzler'.

Loved the characters and they all contribute to the plot line.

Most highly recommended.

If you’re wanting to sample the works of several talented authors at a bargain price, you can’t do better than this collection of stories. All the books are worthy, but I’ve chosen Jane (I’m Still Single) Jones by Joan Reeves to review:

Joan Reeves is a master at conveying the charming southern, small-town vibe, with all the quirky characters who populate her stories. This is a sexy and sweet, second-chance novel. Highly recommended!

This collection I quite inventive in it's creative plots and settings. Each tale provides the author an opportunity to develop her characters in thoughtful ways many create effective twists and dilemmas that are unique or unexpected. Drama and some elements of danger enhance rhe flow without being creepy. The emotional angst is repetitive but that is a common fault of the genre .

A good bang for your buck

This set of stories are definitely a bargain. Great to be enjoyed in an afternoon of leisure.
One that I enjoyed was
JIM BEAM by Jen Talty
The story of JB (Jim Beam) and Cheyenne Hawkins is about family and second chances.
Cheyenne and JB have a history. Five years ago they had an affair while she was training at his family’s ranch. Unbeknown to JB, Cheyenne was engaged.
When she left with her fiance, she left behind a heartbroken JB, a man who no longer trusts the concept of love.
When they face each other 5 years later, JB sees a boy running around the rodeo grounds, and was shocked when he faces a miniature of himself. Needless to say, he felt betrayed and is determined to spend time with his son and gain back the lost years.
While the story was entertaining I never warmed up to Cheyenne. In addition, even though the author does a remarkable job in giving the reader background information on the secondary characters and their stories that occurred in the previous books, not having read them, I felt a little lost and not totally engaged.
Because of that, for me it was more of a 3.5 stars story. Realizing it’s not the author’s fault that I have not read the previous books, I will give it 4 stars.
I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own
