The new characters are developed very well. The old ones we get to know even better.
Looks like this series can go on for at least a few more books now for sure. If you have not started reading any of the genre yet, this series is a great place to start. The wife was actually reading this on her I Pad and pacing . I thought she was going to yell at it! No kidding!
This is the best book yet in the series! WOW. We both think it is the authors best book yet as I said above. This will get him moved to a whole different level for sure.
Fortunately we have all of his books on paper, autographed, so when he becomes famous we can show people we knew him when.....We also have all of his books digitally and on Audible.
Keep going sir, please. I do not want to give away any of the story here so I do not want to write about the surprises and twists and sad stuff.
Hopefully Hugh and Conor will meet! All I'm saying
Thanks Franklin!! Please keep it up
People hear survivalist or prepper and think they're crazies. It's simply not true. Yes, you get some people who go overboard and worry about stupid scenarios, but it can be as simple as keeping a blanket, water bottles, and snacks in your car in case you break down and can't get a ride. You're prepping (aka preparing for the future). After reading this series I did a little prepping myself and have already used it twice. We've had two week long power outages when we rarely get them. My parents and brother panicked and complained, but I was pretty well off. I had beef jerky, several bottles of water, and a portable battery pack to recharge my phone and my kindle. Granted I had to replenish those, but I was way more comfortable than they were.
This series has that kind of common sense practicality to it. The series felt like it had plateaued and I was worried, because I loved reading it, yet I didn't see where he could go from there. Luckily for me, the author saw what the next logical problem would be and took us there. It was really good and ramped the action back up. I'm really glad I read it and I think you'd enjoy it, too.
It has been nine months system since the United States cascaded into a failed society due to several hundred terrorist attacks on the nation's infrastructure. Resources are tight, the power grids are down, and there is no fuel available for cars, trucks, and homes. Life is cheap and growing cheaper by the day.
Somebody is trying to bring a local coal power plant back on line. But who will the power be for ?
I may let this be my last book in the series. The series has moved on from apocalyptic survival to determining political viewpoints.
For anyone who might be new to the works of Franklin Horton, do yourself a favor... go ahead and buy the whole Borrowed World series as well as the Locker 9 series. I own them all and they are all excellent reads. You'll go back and re-read them again and again.
