With those simple words, the Guardian spacecraft openly revealed itself to Humanity, heralding a new chapter in its 500-year-long mission to cultivate our world. Earth’s population must now make its first, planet-wide decision — join the most powerful alliance in our galaxy, or chart our own course — deciding for ourselves which civilizations are worthy of our trust. Will we be the first world to decline the Pelarans’ invitation, or does their offer come with an implied threat?
Aboard Terran Fleet Command’s flagship, TFS Navajo, Admiral Kevin Patterson assembles his formidable but untested forces in hopes of defending the Earth. Knowing that an attack is imminent, he must risk everything in hopes of finding his enemy and taking the initiative.
Returning from TFC’s first battle, Captain Tom Prescott learns that his frigate, TFS Ingenuity, is more heavily damaged than expected. Now he must race against time to prepare a new ship, then execute a daring mission to save Earth’s last and best hope of avoiding full-scale interstellar war.

Review
"The Terran Fleet Command Saga has cemented his place in my library next to Weber. Great read." - Timothy Denny
"Another cracking good read from Harris. I particularly like the slow development of all the battle sequences. The detail present in the background makes the whole thing very believable. The only frustrating thing is that it's such a good story I can't put the book down and I finished it in two days!" - Ian Thompson
"My new favorite Author!" - Peter Roseman
"This is the best 'first novel' I've read since Ryk Brown's start to 'The Frontiers Saga'. Tori Harris weaves together his take on Earth's future with a dose of urban legend and a bit of conspiracy theory (impossible engine - Roswell aliens). I've read a lot of science fiction from the Kindle Store and this is one of my favorites." - Everette Aston
"I am so glad Tori is a self publishing author - proving you don't need the support of the "big 5" to be an amazing story teller." - Charles Corbett
"This was a great book. Lots of real seeming science, good character development, realistic dialogue, one of the best books I have read in science fiction in a long time. No unnecessary sex, no bad language! Editing was great. I read at least a book a day, of some sort, and have for about 40 years, so I have read a lot of books. This was really good and I can't wait for the next. A lot of the stuff I get from kindle unlimited is bad! But this definitely was good." - Sharon Billingsley
"The battle scenes were described in amazing detail and interplay between the various species opened the plot to all kinds of new directions - It has blossomed into a very Raymond Weil epic arc but with a very sophisticated Tom Clancy vibe that I truly love." - Michael Matthews

His favorite authors include Patrick O’Brian and Tom Clancy as well as more recent self-published authors like Michael Hicks, Ryk Brown, and Joshua Dalzelle. Tori lives in Tennessee with his beautiful wife and Bizkit, his intrepid, ten-pound Bichon Shih Tzu.

He hits hard and fast with his precise storytelling using narrative elements focused heavily around emotional responses and internalized debates without feeling dry or boring. The bridge scenes make me feel like I am watching battlestar galactica, the combat just as strong. I have definitely found an amazing author, and I am so glad it is a self publishing author - proving you don't need the support of the "big 5" to be an amazing story teller.
Some might balk at the rapid enhancements the humans are making, but to me it feels just right for the story being told. SciFi is about what ifs, not "what will"
The interactions between the alien factions and humanity as well as inter-human politics is nice and complex without appearing staged.
Looking forward to the next in the series.

As the Pelaran Alliance finally make contact with Earth they make it very subtly – but very clear – that the Earth has no option but to join the Alliance. The benefits, in terms of technology, mutual defence and a host of other advantages, are enormous; no other civilisation, once the offer of membership has been made, has ever declined.
The Sajeth Collective, far more loosely organised and potentially far more aggressive than the Pelaran Alliance, has different views and does not welcome the potential Alliance, on the borders of their sphere of influence, of Sol with the Pelarans.
Much of the book focuses on the issues that develop between the various civilisations and the progressive build-up of the military capability – surprisingly fast – of the Earth itself. As with Book 1 you learn a lot of interesting details about the functioning and weapons capabilities of Earth’s spaceships including how matter and antimatter can be combined to produce both powerful weapons and faster than light travel. The crew of the spaceships and the military command structure are unchanged, so the storyline flows smoothly.
Despite that, it does not advance very far – thus only three stars rather than four – but Book 2 is a moderately interesting sequel to what happened in Book 1.
Book 3? We'll see…
