I got this to replace my personal 2nd broken Brother thermal label printer. For my job I work with a Epson TM-3500 inkjet label printer.
I will never buy a Brother again! This does everything my old printers could and more. Labels are way cheaper and way more options instead of Brother labels. The only con, and it’s barely a con: Brother has its own software for for easily creating labels and changing settings. Where this one, I print in whatever software I want, but play in windows settings to get things configured right.
Also biggest tip I can give, read the instructions or if that’s to much, every time you load paper into it, press and HOLD the feed button for 5 secs to calibrate it.

Print Quality is Fine ... Directions are confusing

Directions in the manual are a bit confusing but I was able to figure it out, time wasted but eh was ok. Toughest thing is getting the labels to stay inline feeding into the printer. So you don't waste as much time as I did installing on Windows 10 here's my steps. 1. with the printer turned off connect the power cord to the printer and connect the usb cable to the printer. 2. plug the power cord into a power outlet and connect the usb cable to the computer. 3.If I remember correctly, turn on the printer. 4. Insert the usb stick and scan it for viruses, mine appears to be clean, my antivirus didn't find anything. find the windows driver file on the
stick and click on it to install it. 5. It tells you to restart the computer and voila computer finds it on restart, easy. I got cheap labels laid flat in a box and its kind of finnicky getting them lined up. Once aligned I'm going like gangbusters. I'm really happy with this thing especially at this price!!!!

This label printer works perfectly with the free labels you can get from UPS with 940 sheets. I used to this to printer my shipping labels for my small business as well as to print out other fun stuff that I can just stick to walls and boxes for labels. The best part is that since it does not use any ink it will last a really long time, and I can keep getting free label paper from UPS. It was really easy to install and setup and you can calibrate it for any label page that's 4inches wide, not sure about other widths as of yet.

Great printer with a bit of adjusting

I have been looking into thermal printers for my small home based business and I didn't want to spend hundreds on it since I just started my business recently so I figured I'd give this printer a shot. Worse case scenario I could return it if it didn't work. It definitely took a little bit of tinkering with and some trial and error but I got it working in an hour or so. My only complaint is that you have to use Adobe Editor in some cases to take a snapshot of the label so you can then print it. Other than that I'm pretty pleased with the printer. I might replace it with a more expensive one down the road once the business gets bigger but this seems to be a solid product for anyone who's just starting and wants to save on ink and time.
***Update***
Ended up returning the printer. Not because any major issues but because I found myself needing to print stuff in sizes that this printer doesn't support. Also I could never figure out how to center my labels so everything was printing closer to one edge than the other. I tried a few different settings changes but that did nothing. Decided to ultimately invest in something more expensive but that does everything I need.

The media could not be loaded.

This was a great purchase especially considering I ship around 20 items per day. It prints about 100 labels per minute but does have variable print speeds so you can have better quality at lower speeds or you can have lower quality at higher speeds. Overall I’m very happy with it and it seems like a very quality machine so far.

As many small business owners just starting out I didn't want to get anything too expensive. I also didn't want to continue printing labels from an expensive inkjet printer. So, I knew a label printer was the best move from a cost/time efficiency standpoint.

At the time of my purchase this printer was less than $70 and it was well worth it in my opinion. It's easy to setup, load labels, and the print quality is perfectly acceptable for printing shipping labels.

What I've learned from using it which some may find helpful:
1) When you load your labels, hold the feed button for 3 seconds, this calibrates the printer for the correct sized label.
2) Build quality is acceptable but take care when loading labels not to be too rough on it.
3) When you have finished a roll of labels clean the print head with an alcohol wipe (don't forget to calibrate again).
4) If you're using Windows use the Snipping Tool (it comes preinstalled, just search for it) to take a screen grab of the label, save it, rotate the image 90 degrees (if needed, the image has to be in portrait), and it'll be ready to print.
5) When you print your label make sure shrink to fit is selected from the drop down so your label is fully within the printers margins.
6) Perhaps the most important point here: After you install the drivers from the included flash drive make sure you select 4x6 (if you're printing shipping labels) and print darkness is set to 12.
