I shopped around and this helmet was about half the price of a name brand helmet and seemed identical but without the logo.
When it arrived the box seemed small and my first thought was, "that's why it was so inexpensive - it's child-size!" No, the helmet is adult-sized and arrived packed tightly. The assembly instructions were lacking (only covering part of the assembly) but I got it all assembled by looking at the photos on the package. (There's the helmet and harness, the face shield, and the ear muffs that all need to be put together.)
I cut down my first two trees yesterday and the helmet performed better than I expected. The head harness inside uses a knob ratchet, which is quite convenient and was a luxury I didn't expect at this price point. The ear muffs blocked way more sound than my ear plugs and both them and the helmet are legitimately safety rated - again, not kids stuff.
All in all, I felt compelled to tell of my good fortune in finding this product at this price!
Edit: 5/23/16 Upped 1 star because I was contacted by manufacturer wanting to help out. I like good customer service! Anyways I used super glue to fix the ear muffs back into place. I will see how they hold up after some use and will update then.
The small clips holding the headband together unsnapped constantly.
The mesh screen is better than the ones found on both the Husqvarna and on the Stihl helmets.
But I returned the TR Helmet after strap issues.
After I returned this TR helmet I went to all the chainsaw dealers in the area and discovered that buying a Husqvarna is very confusing because they have many different models. Even the Pro model is not consistent from store to store. The worst quality Husqvarna helmet was sold at Lowes (a piece of junk). I can not understand why Husqvarna would put such a low quality helmet on the market.
Finally I ended up with a Stihl ProMark helmet at $74.95 ($149 on Amazon). Yes it is pricey, but I don't compromise on tool quality.
This was much much higher quality than any of the Husqvarna helmets or the other helmets that I looked at.
I only found the Stihl helmet at professional stores selling Stihl equipment.
And remember, helmets are like brains! They only work if you use them :)
I have been doing a ton of tree trimming this fall and I goofed one day and didn't put on safety glasses because they fall off and fog up so much. So long story short - I put my eye out / Nothing perm just 3 weeks of a bandage and a minor scar removal surgery.
So here I go again but this time taking precautions! I found this and thought Ill give it a try - HOLLY SMOKE! I love it! I would have thought it was going to be heavy -hot and cumbersome but not at all - Very comfortable to wear! The ear protectors are super soft and really keep the helmet on my head and block out nearly all noise, I have huge ears so soft is a big concern. I wear little head phones under them connected to my MP3 player I just taped to the top inside of helmet. Works Great! The screen is so fine but yet I get plenty of breeze - doesn't block my view at all - and yesterday which triggered the review I was chainsawing away on limbs 10" above my head and the oil cap off chain saw came off, OIL EVERYWHERE. All over me head to toe - all over the screen AND NOT A DROP ON MY FACE! The screen protected my face against the falling oil.

The Pros: The plastic used for the helmet is of good quality, feels solid. The ear pads are adjustable and comfortable. The polycarbonate visor is very clear and larger than other competitors so it wraps around nicely to protect your face. Be sure to peel off the protective film on both sides of the plastic visor or it will look blurry. The metal mesh (not my favourite) is wider than other competitors and is of a close screen that will stop stones and some sand from hitting your face. The system is very easy to put together, is adjustable and comfortable. Mine came in Orange colour.
The Cons: Some fine sand did get through the the fine metal mesh while doing lawn edging by the side walk so I switched to the plastic which is my first preference. When the plastic visor gets scuffed I will replace it, right now they are out of stock on Amazon.
This is a great buy worth more than it’s price. Yes I would recommended it.
Only downside is the rotational springloaded arrangement for the ear muffs, which doesn't easily allow the ear muffs to be swiveled out the way whilst wearing the helmet.
Helmet is easy enough to put on by easing the muffs in their deployed position over your head though, so not a complete deal breaker if you're ok with that.
Good value, and to be honest is no less robust (just as flimsy) as the Husqvarna equivalent, but at half the price.
The ear pros are also relatively sturdy; my only gripe is they don't have an 'open' and 'closed' position like other mounted ear pros. Where in others you could pop them into the open position, rotate them up, and pop them closed to rest securely against the back of your helmet, these don't seem to have the option, and you have to wrangle them into place a bit.
The mesh shield seems to work fine. Your can adjust how far it sits off the brim; it can either stop by resting on your brim, or go slightly past and cover more of your chin, but at the expense of having a bit of a gap at your forehead.
I sent it back because it would be of no use to me.
UPDATE 2019: my first helmet was ‘eaten’ by a bear while left outside my deer stand (my fault). Ordered another one because I feel this is the best helmet for the price. And I still think the clear shield is outstanding - easy to clean, and almost fog free.
