Leguizamo and Perez put in great performances about dealing with trauma
Verified purchase
The beginning of The Take seems like it will be a crime drama when Tyrese Gibson robs an armored truck business John Leguizamo works at. Instead, most of it turns out to be about how Leguizamo’s life was turned upside down by the event. Leguizamo’s wife Rosie Perez and their two kids have to deal with him and the trauma he suffered. Perez does a great job as the strong yet distraught wife. Yes, it gets back to the robbery at the end, but it’s all about Leguizamo and what he went through and he puts in a strong performance.

Leguizamo and Perez are Terrific!

This is a very good movie that escaped my radar back in the day. The story itself is quite well worth watching, and the acting by the two mentioned in the headline is absolutely outstanding. Overlooked in teh Oscars I guess. This isn't a Death Wish/comic book revenge movie, far from it. It really was convincing in depicting the personality problems accompanying head wound traumas. I found it very convincing and pretty darn exciting in the end.

From Tragedy to Triumph

One of Leguzamo's best performances. Perez was great as always. Despite this being cinema I still hate that such vicious acts were committed by Tyrese's character. One of the saddest scenes was the perp walk through the market at the end and the looks on the faces of all the brown people with what appeared to be heartbreak.

This product was listed as Used-Like New. However, I had to return this product to sender. In the past, I have had problems with a movie, returned the bad movie and was sent back a good copy. But, this seller advised a return with original method of payment sent back to me. I really wanted to watch the movie, but will have to look at a different way of getting it. I expect a movie that expresses it is Used-Like New to be just that-no scratches, no skips, no issues. Thanks!

This is a very good movie, a keeper. I've always liked John Leguizamo, since 'Too Won Foo'. He does it all, comedy, action, drama. Seems as though he really reached deep for this one and did a superb job. And so did the rest of the cast, all wonderful actors!
