A woman's preovulatory waking temps typically range from about 97.0 to 97.7 degrees Fahrenheit, with postovulatory temps rising to about 97.8 and higher. After ovulation, they will usually stay elevated until her next period, about 12 to 16 days later. If she were to become pregnant, they would remain high throughout much of her pregnancy, gradually dropping a few months before childbirth.

The primary factor that determines how long it will take before you ovulate is how soon your body reaches an estrogen threshold.

2.0 out of 5 stars Couldn't look past the sexism & negativity of patients, docs & men
By Ashley on January 13, 2020
I gave this book 2 stars because it does have good information in many areas of reproductive health, however I found that it was written in an extremely sarcastic & negative tone that made the book difficult to read & very frustrating at times. She often negatively comments on past patients, doctors & men in general on being uninformed & ignorant. I found the book very sexist against men while she tries to push her own agendas for reproductive politics, which is just unnecessary in a health book. There is even a blurb from a past patient who forced her husband to have sex with her bc she was ovulating even though he was half unconscious and in a lot of pain from surgery... could this not be considered rape, especially if the gender roles were reversed? I also felt (like other reviewers) that her ONLY acceptable form of birth control is charting & she gives MANY negative reasons why all other forms are not good enough. Yes, synthetic hormones are not ideal but this view is unreasonable and not realistic in our world. An everyday reader trying to better themselves & become educated on their health could get very frustrated with the constant put down of all standard medical options from a typical doctor. There are many ways to be in charge of your reproductive health, not just one.
