Not What You Think It’s Going to Be
Unlike some of the others who’ve written reviews, I found this show an interesting and well-acted study of characters. All I had to do to get in the frame of mind to look and listen with fresh eyes and ears was to forgive the show for what I thought it was trying to do: I was thinking that “Loop” was just trying to be a rehash of similar concepts and ideas from Twilight Zone or Stranger Things. As soon as I realized this wasn’t the case: voilá! Great show! Gorgeous music! Subtle and thoughtful themes that depend on ideas and good acting, not SciFi visuals. Overall excellent.

Slow, confusing and irritating
I honestly started getting sick and tired of all these "modern" movies and series that are nothing but "let me show you how many interesting angles I can get in this scene" and "I'll show you now a kid watching a match flame for 9 seconds and it's supposed to be important but it's not";
At minute 10 I started fast forwarding. Minute 30 finally started showing what the whole thing is about. Towards the end another 15 minutes of snail-paced "action".
This whole episode's action could have been shown in 5 minutes.
And as for me, I'm afraid, I won't be watching another episode after this. Got better things to do with my time.
I just wonder why does Amazon promote a C-grade series so heavily.
It's even 10 times worse than "Man in the High Castle", another fine example of drawn out time-waster that could have been condensed into a good single movie if there was one good director.
Are these people connected to Bezos somehow to get paid for this crap?
Having the trailer force-fed to me when I try to watch any other Amazon Prime video makes it even more irritating.
If I want to watch something, I can find it on the home page of Prime Video. I don't need it annoying me before each and every video I try to watch on Prime. There's a reason lately I've been avoiding Prime Video and watching more Netflix.

So far so good.
Just finished 1st episode, and it's a good show. Don't listen to the people with zero patience who decided to comment after only 12 minutes into the show. Ok, the beginning may be kind of boring or confusing (not to me), but you will most probably like this show if you are into science fiction that feels real.

Edit:
Watched all episodes. Most episodes can live up to expectations. I decided to keep a 5-star rating, although some episodes deserve less than that.

tedious and where are the wonderful images from the books?
The books are marvelous but who would know from this rip-off "twilight zone" silliness. Again, Amazon is losing touch with good work. They allow second-rate drivel like this and axe wonderful series like "Man in the High Castle." More poststructural claptrap parading as science fiction.

REMINiSCENT of other shows, books, but a GOOD SPIN
Some of the storylines and execution were better than others, so with some episodes more of a two some three, a couple more like four and a half. I gave it that high a review as I didn't just watch the first or two episodes.

Don't judge from the FIRST episode. I thought that was one of the weaker, if not THE weakest, one and all it did was kind of give you an idea (and not a particularly clear one) of the series.

The familiar, the normalcy of middle class small town. Mixed with The Loop. The unusual, the bizarre.

Some took me on a wilder ride than others, but if you like this type of fantasy in the midst of the mundane, worth a watch.

Odd Attempt at Being Deep
The series reeks of an outer limits knock off. If you are into to that kind of thing, expect less.

Tedious and Dull
Couldnt bring myself to watch another episode past the first. It tries to be deep, thoughtful and thought provoking but ends up being bleak and minimalist to the point of tedium. It took everything in my power to avoid spending my time looking at my phone instead of watching the show.

I don't leave a lot of reviews whether it's bad or good, but this just pissed me off
This is what happens when producers who don't really love science fiction approve projects. For some reason, they cannot see sci-fi as a stand-alone genre, they have to combine it with horror or something violent. This has such potential, amazing cinematography, fantastic acting, interesting premise and world, but it has the same problem a lot of new science fiction shows have, you cannot trust the storyteller. Most sci-fi lovers are not looking for the kind of pain people that like horror or crime oriented genres are looking for. The people up top see that certain science fiction TV shows are doing extremely well, such as: The Expanse, Star Trek Discovery, Stranger Things, Doctor Who and so on. So they try to create more sci-fi shows without understanding the core audience.

People like science fiction because they like to wonder "what if", they like to explore the possibility of a different reality, they like to drift into the imaginary. They are not looking to be stabbed repeatedly in the heart. If that's what you're aiming for then good for you, but most people won't come back for more, because it lacks a minimal amount of basic hope. Also, the lack of commitment to an ending, leaving so much out of the story basically untold, just looks like you didn't know what to do, so you tried to look smart by leaving it so vague that it just falls short.

A sci-fi audience is a loyal audience. If you create something brilliant that takes people on a journey without making them feel terrible, they will follow you forever. It doesn't mean you can't add a bit of tragedy, just in moderation. It can't all be a tragedy with the backdrop of sci-fi. We can tell the difference. Lastly, where are the trustworthy storytellers, those that can commit to an ending and show it? Those who dare to give a little hope with their narrative.
