Editorial Reviews

Comprising unnerving tales of loss from horror's best-loved writers, LOST 2 is haunting, uncanny, and deeply disquieting. Prepare to lose sleep while reading this one." - Lee Murray, award-winning author of INTO THE ASHES.

"Tales of the Lost 2 could be called "Tales of the Dark Heart!" From a coming home story that ends in a not-so-typical cemetery scene to a couple of ultimate sacrifices driven by love, this is a book filled with stories to tear at your heart while making you shiver. There are macabre jack-in-the-boxes and soul-stealing virtual reality games and an apocalypse vision of a mother's love the likes of which I've never read before. These are stories of love and longing and selfless giving and aching loss ... with frequent visits from the monstrous things that inhabit the night. This is a volume of horrific heart and chilling beauty."

- John Everson, Bram Stoker Award-winning author of Covenant and Voodoo Heart

"As a master of horror & pop culture I've been honored to work with my friends behind the new press Plaid Dragon Publishing. They have knocked it out of the park with their first book. Make sure you check them out!"

-Tony Todd, Horror Icon- Hellfest, Candyman

"Hot on the heels of the stunning Tales of the Lost - Volume One, this second collection dives deeper into recesses of the mind, soul, and darkness with stories that push the boundaries of the genre. Big names abound, including Neil Gaiman, Joe Hill, and Heather Graham, yet this is also an anthology of the found. Newer unsung authors round out this book that brings a special sparkle to horror that begs to be read - readers will easily find themselves happily "lost" once again."

- David Simms, Book Reviewer

5.0 out of 5 stars The perfect Halloween treat, but great reading any time!
By David A Voyles on November 6, 2020
Tales of the Lost, Volume II is full of great stories by many award-winning horror writers. Of course you'd expect great stories from Joe Hill ("20th Centruy Ghost") and Neil Gaiman ("Don't Ask Jack") and you definitely get them!

But the others from authors, several of whom I don't know, were equally entertaining. Favorites for me were Ben Monroe's "Scritch-Scratch" about--you guessed it--creepy noises in the attic, John Palisano's "The Revival of Stephen Tell," in which a magician promises to die and be revived thus revealing what lies "beyond the veil," and "Home Theater," Vince A. Liaguno's creative tale of a home entertainment system that is a bit too real.

The other stories are really just as good, but the whole collection is enhanced by the inclusion of three poems by renowned horror writers Stephanie M. Wytovich, Christina Sng, and Lucy A. Snyder. The poems break up the cadence of the storytelling at just the right times.

This collection bodes well for future volumes of this theme which editors Eugene Johnson and Steve Dillon promise us are on the way.
