This is a very good community cookbook compiled by the Junior League of Lafayette, LA.

I like the community cook books and have about 7of them from Louisiana, three from Baton Rouge and 2 from Lafayette. To some of you the recipes seem outdated and perhaps they are. But even so you can certainly get ideas from them. But many recipes are just plain good. I find it amusing that the people that want their food to taste like Granny used make are the same ones who complain that the recipes are old.

I have the original Talk About Good II, but just love the hard cover and the new inside binding; time will prove it more durable than the old plastic spiral binding. The George Rodrique art work adds SO MUCH to the "flavor" of the cookbook (no pun intended!) and frankly, you just can't beat Cajun cooking! And if one doesn't want too spicy, cut down on the seasonings a tad; other than that, Talk About Good I and II are great cookbooks!

The real deal for NOLA and Cajun food

Best Cajun cookbook out there. Illustrations by George Rogrigue before he started painting the blue dog. I was born and raised in NOLA and this is THE cookbook. There is a second in the same series called "Talk about Good" which is more New Orleans food. Have had both for over 25 years and use them every time I want real NOLA or Cajun food.
