Tori's come home after her husband's death, intent on escaping the public eye. It’s just her luck that Delon limps into her physical therapy office, desperate for help. All hard-packed muscle and dark-eyed temptation, he's never been anything but a bad idea. And yet, seeing him again, Tori can't remember what made her choose foolish pride over love . . . or why, with this second, final chance to right old wrongs, the smartest choice would be to run from this gorgeous rodeo boy as fast as her boots can take her.

About the author

Kari Lynn Dell is a native of north central Montana, a third generation ranch-raised cowgirl, horse trainer and rodeo competitor. She attended her first rodeo at two weeks old and has existed in a state of horse-induced poverty ever since. She currently resides on the family ranch on the Blackfeet Reservation, loitering in her parents’ bunkhouse along with her husband, son and Max the Cowdog, with a tipi on the front step, a view of Glacier National Park from her writing desk and Canada within spitting distance.

Just like real life, Delon and Tory could have saved themselves years of pain if they had only told each other how they really felt. They didn’t, and then relationships got really twisted and tangled. If you haven’t read book one in this series, Reckless In Texas, you might want to stop here. I can see no way to talk about this book without giving away major spoilers for book one.
And book one was a wild ride, with Joe Cassidy, bullfighter extraordinaire, and Violet Jacobs, the only woman pick-up man in pro rodeo. And Beni. Beni is Violet’s son…a son conceived after a drunken night at the Lone Steer Saloon, with Delon…Violet’s life long best friend. A night they both regretted, but a night that gave them both a son they adore.
Almost seven years after that drunken night, Delon is recovering from a serious riding accident, and not recovering well enough to have much hope of regaining his ability as one of the best professional bareback riders in the country. The new therapist just happens to be Tori Patterson, the same Tori from his past…the daughter of Senator Patterson. Texas royalty. Tori never wanted that life and Delon never thought a cowboy would ever fit in her life.
Okay. What we have here is complicated. “Complicated” is almost a cliché in romance, but this one is really, really complicated. Delon and his older brother Gil have been close to the Jacobs family most of their lives. Iris and Steve Jacobs were like a second set of parents to those boys. Violet and Delon have a son together, and though they aren’t in love, Delon always thought that someday they would marry and be a happy little family…until Joe Cassidy came along and swept Violet right off her feet. It was bad enough to see the mother of his son in love with another man, seeing the bond forming between his son and Joe almost pushed Delon over the edge. What saved him?
Just one quick word about Beni, Violet and Delon’s son. He is an exceptionally bright kid, very active and he causes a little trouble now and then. But he has already captured the title of best little cock-blocker in Texas! But that doesn’t stop the renewal of a relationship between Tori and Delon, and it doesn’t affect the best, funniest and most realistic sex scene I’ve ever read! Grab a copy and…
Enjoy!

There's a special place in this world for cowboys, the real ones that is. They don't all look like the cover of this book, matter of fact, most of them don't. And they won't be comfortable in tuxedos and probably won't like technology much either. And I can guarantee they normally don't have much money, BUT,,, cowboys care about their families hard, and they love the four "L's" - their land, their livestock, their ladies and their lives. This is very evident in this story and the author did an awesome job bringing it out. Its obvious she knows many and knows what they are all about.
I have to say I loved the story, (don't care for the sex - not necessary to add that crap in there) but the additional characters are what made it!!! Especially Shawnee! Her mouth and then Tori's lack of a filter with her mouth just made this whole story pop! Now I have to get the first one, and definitely have to get Shawnee's story when it comes out. Thanks Kari!!! Keep writing about these special men.
I admit that I didn’t understand all about the equipment necessary for a bull or bronc rider, but this was well written and thrilling by an author who grew up on a ranch and in rodeo.
It shows.
Read the first book in the series. This being the second will give a reader better context and understanding of the whole scene.
Most of the characters are athletes with skills. She feeds them a 1990's diet which is a bit incongruous, but maybe the Tom Brady diet is too much to expect for their training.
Wonderful entanglements in the lives of all the characters.
Ordered two more of her books.
