In the TX mode, the Bluetooth transmitter can be used to stream audio from non-Bluetooth audio sources such as non-Bluetooth TVs or CD players to Bluetooth headphones/speakers. This transmitter is supported to RCA connectors and AUX connectors, therefore, please kindly have a check see whether your audio sources have one of these kinds of jacks. Please note that the adapter should be plugged into the “L&R AUDIO OUT” jack or the “AUX OUT” jack on the audio source but not the “Component IN” jack.
In the RX mode, the Bluetooth adapter could be used as a Bluetooth receiver to non-Bluetooth stereos such as wired headsets or wired speakers. Pair the Bluetooth receiver with your cell phone, and plug your headsets into the jack on this unit, then you will be able to hear the music from your phone.
If the TV does not have the “AUX OUT” jack or the “L&R AUDIO OUT” jack, a headphone jack should also work.
If the TV only have a “DIGITAL AUDIO OUTPUT (OPTICAL)” jack, a convertor is needed or you could choose another model of TaoTronics Bluetooth Transmitters, TT-BA09, which is supported to both aux audio output and optical audio output.
Not recommend for streaming live music (while playing guitar, keyboard, electronic drums etc.)
What is In the Box:

The battery lasts longer than my bluetooth headphones plus it can charge while operating so battery life isn't an issue.
Pairing is comparatively simple. Note that the device clears its entire pairing history every time you flip the RX/TX (receive/transmit) switch to the other side. Pairing the TX(transmit) mode is perhaps more difficult because you will typically be pairing with a BT headphone or speaker. Once pairing is activated, the TaoTronics will pair with the "closest" BT device. In reality I guess it just pairs with the strongest audio-capable BT signal it can find. So if there are plenty of BT devices around it could in theory pair with the wrong device, but you'll know when you got it right. I would recommend that you try to pair with your headphones in a space away from other BT noise to keep things simple. For example, I once tried to pair the TaoTronics to my BT headphones without success... until I realized it kept pairing with my TV's soundbar in the room next door :) Moving away solved the problem. Of course, once paired, everything will work fine until you flip the RX/TX switch (which you're unlikely to do often).
Pairing in RX mode is much easier because typically you would be pairing with e.g. a smartphone which allows you to control the the pairing process in a more user friendly way.
The TaoTronics has an internal battery that charges through a normal USB phone charger. It can charge while it is being used.
Highly recommended if you are looking to add BT capability to an older audio device.
It comes with cables to connect it to a TV or cable box so you can get TV sound on Bluetooth speakers or headphones, but I have not tried it that way. I bought this just to make my iPod Classic Bluetooth-compatible, and it does the job for that. So I'm happy!

I ordered two, which arrived very quickly, and then it was a simple case of pairing them as transmitter and receiver. They worked perfectly for the duration of the three hour event. They are small enough to tuck out the way, and light enough not to adversely effect the smartphone 3-axis gimbal.
Update: Note this device only supports aptX (in addition to aptX Low Latency) in transmit mode. It does not support base level aptX in receive mode, only SBC. Pairing two of these together has 202 ms latency. If you need it, there are competing products that claim to support aptX Low Latency also in receive mode.
- Great quality
- Pairing is quick and painless
- Sound quality is very good
Cons (in receiver mode)
- When nothing is connected, audible high pitched noise is present sometimes
- Bluetooth device wont automatically pair with the unit when it powers on. Need to enter pair mode (holding power button) every time
Overall a great device for the price.
After reading reviews for this device, I was expecting to get some lag when pairing it with my Plantronics sports earphones to watch TV, however, I was surprised to find that wasn't the case at all for the vast majority of times I use it, I get no perceptible lag, lip syncing is fine. I've found that using a longer 3.5mm stereo cable to connect the transmitter to the TV headphone socket works better than the short one provided with the product, the short cable results in the transmitter having to sit slightly behind my TV, which does result in a little bit of lag, the longer cable, however, means the transmitter can sit on top of my entertainment unit, and in that position it works lag free over a distance of about 4 metres to where I'm sitting.
The device is tiny, so you can easily carry it with you anywhere, it connects to devices via a standard 3.5mm stereo jack and it charges via a standard micro USB port, so there's no proprietary cables involved meaning a lost/damaged cable is extremely easy and cheap to replace.
Couldn't be happier with my TaoTronics Bluetooth Transmitter, I definitely made the right choice when choosing this one over all the other options available.
There's occasional popping though, and sometimes in quiet scenes the music cuts out (even though there should still be some quiet sounds). Not sure if its our earphones or this transmitter.
How to pair guide and everything needed like usb cable, wires and all are included.
Plus it has a very good battery life too!
I previously experienced a pretty bad static hum on my unit but after further testing and playing around with the included cables this appears to have gone away and the situation has vastly improved. I've updated my star rating to reflect this.
The only thing holding this unit back from being excellent is that the UI of pressing the button to make it pair, turn on/off, etc. can be quite fiddly - it isn't particularly intuitive.
All in all I think this unit is a good option for adding BT sound output to devices that don't natively support it. I've paired with my Logitech MX Sound speakers and Apple Airpods - both worked flawlessly.
Picked up one of these off the back of an article I read as a way to link my Nintendo Switch up to bluetooth speakers / headphones. The unit does what it says it will and sound quality for the most part is good but there is a constant low static hum throughout the broadcast which is particularly annoying.
The hum is less noticeable when you have the volume up high but that's probably more of a work around than an actual fix to the issue. There may be other options out there which provide a better experience.
The quality it good, that includes both sound and build.
The aptX low latency makes a huge difference (if your headphones support it). There's virtually no lag.
The connection sequence is still kind of unclear for me. Here is what I did, Took the transmitter out of box (it's very small, like the size of Nokia 2300 battery), paired it with my Bluetooth speakers and Bluetooth Headset(2 devices allowed, another huge plus). Then connected this transmitter to TV's 3.5 mm jack and changed sound source on TV menu to external speaker. It didn't work... Rebooted tv, still didn't work. Kept the transmitter connected to TV and attempted pairing again, didn't work. Tried to switch to red / white audio out instead of 3.5 mm, still no luck. Switched back to 3.5 mm, paired again and it worked!
So I have no clue what actually made it work. 😆
But once it started working, it's awesome. I've always regretted the poor quality of my TV's sound... But this was the perfect fix.
Bye Bye thoughts of buying expensive soundbars, Hello Bose Soundlink Mini.
Thanks to the low latency, I can experience the high-fidelity stereo sound that is always right for you, providing you with a pure sound.
The transmitter can then be easily paired with two Bluetooth receivers at the same time, with up to two headphones or speakers.
Does the job, but there's this little 'hissing/buzzing' sound in the background, which my cheaper $6 one had. I will admit that the setup was much easier compared to the cheaper one.
Audio quality is not too bad. I havent tried the receiver function but I'm sure it should work fine.
Value - 5 stars
Sound quality - 5 stars
Functionality - 1 star....I'm getting an odd buzzing noise out of my bluetooth speaker when connected to this transmitter. Anybody know what's going on? Speaker is fine as it works perfectly with my cell phone and laptop. If I can't figure it out I"ll be returning the product as it is incredibly annoying once you hear it (will drive a person crazy)
UPDATE : Company contacted me after my review and sent a brand new product for free. New product works fine. Well done with customer service...something that doesn't really exist in Sydney. Updated rating to 5. Highly recommend.
Haven't used it in the receive mode, so I can't judge that, but I didn't get it for that.
I have used it a few times so far since I am back but it is a rather dissapointing. It works well so far but the problem I have is the volum sound it transmitted I think . I wonder if I use a different model with Optical input will impove it.
I have LG OLED TV and the latest Sony Sony WH-1000XM3. It's a noise cancelling head-set but I really need to pump up the volum to more than 75% to get the sound level.
I usually only use 20%~25% volume with TV to get the sound so compared to that this is a way too low.
