FYI: I am a super-prolific author of many series, most of which occur in the same universe. Characters and events overlap. It's sort of like how Iron Man and Captain America have their own movies, but sometimes get together for the Avengers. You can start with any of my series that look interesting to you, or you can read all of them!
I recommend reading The Descent Series, the Cain Chronicles, The Ascension Series, A Fistful of Daggers, War of the Alphas, and The Mage Craft Series for the "core" story of my books.
Happy reading!

If you're already a fan, this 4-book series will keep you entertained. I read the series in under a week.
If you haven't read any of her books before, you should know that these are not 'young adult' fantasies... they are full-on Adult Fantasy stories. A mixture of action, magic, adventure, philosophy, and sex... a lot of sex. Explicit sex. Sometimes, more vivid than really necessary within the story line, I skimmed past a few of these passages in the Tarot Witch series, in order to get back to the "action".
If you are easily offended, don't read this series. God is not singular here, and many references to gods and demons seem to mix up which is benevolent and which not.
On the other hand, if you enjoy stories about shifters, and magic, and bikers, and drugs, and sex... and sometimes being led down a 'certain' path only to find that you were wrong about where it was going (I prefer non-plotting stories), grab a free sample off Amazon and try it out. You might find yourself hooked on her style.
The writing and editing were all well done. There is certainly no issue with how she writes. My problem with the series stemmed from the characters themselves mostly. The first book had ofelia. I mostly liked her. At first anyway. As the books progressed, I liked her less. I liked the others less. The last book had samita. I liked her mostly. The others? Couldn't stand them, hoped they died, kept waiting on them to fall into a sinkhole.
They were all selfish, insane, neurotic, just terrible people. The men weren't much better. I had no issues with sex, language, homosexuality, etc. I just had issue with their personalities. I had issue with their choices regarding other people.
I know this book series was on a somewhat simultaneous timeline as the decent/ascension series, yet I didn't feel like it was. I didn't get how it tied in. It didn't feel connected enough. Sure the breaking was mentioned. The boy God was in both series. End of the world again. Voice of God. All mentioned, but I didn't feel it.
I'm sure many others will enjoy the series. Unfortunately I just wasn't one of them. I still love this author's work, and will look forward to any other series she puts out.
I kinda lost my train of thought when the werewolves put in an appearance. So, you know, good books. Awesome collection. *super, mega thumbs up*

I feel like the attention to detail when it came to building up to and portraying the sex scenes was pretty heavy handed when weighed against the lack of development with supporting characters.
I can appreciate that this set is one of many that expand on the universe and characters as a whole. That's exciting. But it feels rushed. Things feel a little out of place.
Before my purchase I read plenty of reviews and I get the unhappiness with the gap between books three and four. I feel like there were plenty of gaps left between the Genesis and the rushed ending of the book. I'm sure reading other sets will help round some things out. But I'll have to come back to it at some point.

Also, better read this series in the right order with the other series within SM Reine's universe. I made the mistake to read Magecraft first and was now trying to remember who became who. I also might have enjoyed the later book more with this background stories.

I don't have a problem with sex or erotic scenes, but those have been vulgar and not very erotic, it was probably the writing style, but it really turned me off. I liked the idea of the tarot witches, but somehow it was also very predictable, witch need to mate tote her powers, it was just to plain and has been repeatedly done, only different ways or it took longer. Sorry for the not so good review. Anyone has a different taste, this was not my taste.

Got involved with all the characters and found the books hard to put down as usual, just need to know what's happening next. Will be following the series.
After saying that I did find the ending odd and it seemed a little rushed or fragmented.
Hope nobody was reading over my sholder on work lunch breaks, gets steamy in parts!
