Keeping cool in the heat of summer

These work great, a perfect item to keep cool on summer walks, outdoor festivals or during power outages. Please read the instructions, it states clearly to wash prior to use. Those that commented on color bleeding are absolutely correct- if you do not wash it first. I bought several and just ran them in the washing machine with a color catcher before we used them the first time. Plenty of color was caught, however there has been no color bleed after the initial wash. As for smell, there is a bit of odd odor when you first open the package, once again following the instructions to wash before first use eliminated any odor. They can be cut to the size you want however they are just right to wear around your neck. They are wide enough that just re-rolling will bring a cool section back against your skin. For really active use you may want a larger size that hangs down farther. I received the real Frogg Toggs product, they do offer different versions on their website. Great for keeping cool, recommend!

I did not think I would really need these until I actually did. I read about these another parent took to Walt Disney World as a quick cool down for her kids. The price was right so I picked up a couple and tossed them in my park bag just in case. The first day the humidity knocked my kiddos out. I pulled out these, soaked them, and in about five minutes they were cooled off and feeling much better. After that, when they started feeling hot they would ask for their cooling pads and it would be the pick me up in the heat to keep them going. Glad we had them, glad they were easily reusable for our entire stay. My only complaint is the initial stench they emit straight out of the package. After we used them, and aired them out it went away. But oh my oder! I suggest you soak them and let them air out before your first use.

Bought this to help keep cool at a music festival. Even when not soaking wet it has a cool compress feel to it, plus blocks the sun. Absorbs a lot of water which came in handy for drying up our tent after some rain. Multi functional, easy to carry, and does what its supposed to. My only warning would be that to be careful when storing, don't just wad it up. And if/when it dries out, make sure to fully saturate it with water and carefully unfold it as to prevent tearing.

This is the cooling cloth to buy, bar none. My go to hot spell product. Blows mission brand cooling cloth out of the water. I had one for about 6 years that got lost recently. Had kept it in fridge that whole time with occasionally rinsing and washing it. Never once acquired any mold or nasty smell. Is so much better than mission brand. For me, the long smaller width works best around my neck. Cannot recommend highly enough. Do not freeze and expect to use immediately. Refrigerated.

I am a teacher, and when I read Rosenberg's first book 'Nonviolent Communication - A language of Life' I was really inspired and impressed. The book went into lots of detail, with examples, and I was very keen to find out more about how I could apply these principals in school. So, I purchased this book. When it arrived, I realised it was a transcript of a workshop, and only about 40 pages long. Non the less, I began to read it, hoping it would support my work in school further. However, I soon realised, that other than using the terms 'giraffe' language (NVC) and 'jackal' language (violent language), and one transcript of a role play between a teacher and child, all the other examples were taken from the first book I had read. To put it in as NVC way as I can - I felt quite disappointed and dismayed. Although I hold Rosenburg's view in very high esteem, this book did not meet my needs to learn more about its application in a school setting, or inspire me further. I would have preferred a lot more real life child/teacher transcripts based on situations which arise in schools. For the extra money, I would personally recommend any teacher wishing to find out about NVC to buy his first book instead of this one.

Good read, it has a lot of the same examples as you'll read in other books and videos by Marshall, but this one is geared to schools.
Be aware though, this is a very small book and is basically one of his lectures. If you want more information on Non-Violent communication, read the main book which has a lot more information.
