superior to the current run.

I know it was the 80s and production wasn't what it is now, but my 3 year old Loves these guys. The new cartoon is sharper and looks better but they didn't make it better with their update. Just scarier. The bad guys are scarier the violence is more intense. They should have just given these cartoons the George Lucas treatment instead of revamping the whole story. Maybe I'm biased but these cartoons are vastly superior to the current ones. And, once you make it to the second season there are like 20-40 episodes in the seasons which is awesome. Not like the 12 episode seasons of today's shows. And I swear I am not as old as that last sentence made me sound.

Did not age well

While I still love the TMNT, the violence and language did not age well. Bought the first season for my six year old to watch, I don’t remember it being this bad.

The Original Cartoon Series and Still the Best!

The more friendly Turtles here, although there have been many different versions of them over the years. The comics are great, as well, for a more serious look. The newer cartoons seem to be lacking in musical quality, in my opinion, but are still an interesting new take on the famous Ninja Turtles. And as a nice bonus to kids: You can be the most powerful Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle in the world, but still be nice, green, humble, and friendly both to yourself, and to others you either don't know or would like to consider friends. Especially when in the TV show there's lots of..... PIZZA!!!!!

This is where the cult following that is known as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles truly began. A mysterious crimewave hits the city of New York. Cloaked theives and street punks rule the night. April O'Neil attemps to get the scoop on the story, but is surrounded by hoodlums warning her to stay away. When all seemed lost, four mysterious creatures rescue her. With the aid of Leonardo, Donatello, Michaelangelo and Raphael, will she find out who is trully behind the crimewave?
