Sara Sharpe works in London as a publicity assistant for a major UK publisher.
As well as being proficient in her professional life things may be deemed to be going well in her personal life too.
She has been in a relationship with the successful and charming Simon Keegan, a financial consultant, for the past six months. People keep telling her that they make a good couple. Good, but not great.
When Simon jets off to New York on business Sara spends the week on a publicity tour with the enigmatic Adam Cooper, a thriller writer and the ex-husband of Victoria Glass, the celebrity socialite.
Being with Adam causes Sara to ask herself certain questions in regards to both her personal and professional life.
How does she feel about Simon? And what will be her answer to the question he may pop when he gets back to London?
And what of Adam? Is he too good to be true? Reports in the press from his ex-wife would suggest that he’s not all that he seems to be.
Sara Sharpe needs to find out about how she feels - and tell him about it.

Praise for Uptown girl.
'A fast-paced, breezy, wittily romantic read that I couldn't put down. This sparkling, beautifully-written story follows heroine Emma's search for the perfect man, but, as usual, the course of true love does not run smoothly, and her true happiness comes from an unexpected source. Lots of lovely shopping details, too, and the descriptions of her exciting social life made me think I was there with her and made me feel rather envious! Definitely one I'd recommend to my friends.' Nicola Yeager, author of the best-selling 'Picture Imperfect.'
“A light-hearted, sharply observed tale of a spoilt London supermodel and her tangled love life” Emma Lee-Potter, author of School Ties.
"Holly Kinsella knows how to put both a sentence and outfit together... Uptown Girl is a wonderfully funny and wonderfully sweet novella." Robert Avon, The Seducer's Diary.

Beyond being a fun, light, warm fuzzy read this also pulls back the curtain a bit on the mysterious world of publishing and gives us a glimpse into just what goes on behind the scenes. This truly fascinating look into authors, publishers, publicists, and royalties was almost as interesting as the romantic angle of the story!
As for the romantic aspect, Sara's dilemma was one many will find familiar - do you remain with someone who is good but great, or try for something better with someone else? Sara's soul searching led her to a decision that, as a reader, I was hoping she'd make and left me smiling.
As a character Sara was also someone I'd actually like to know in real life. She seemed friendly and accessible, and very genuine.
This delightful novella was the perfect antidote to a cold winter's evening. I highly recommend this well written, thoughtful, and beautiful story and am eagerly awaiting the author's next release!
Simon is going away for a week on business while Sara is spending the time on a publicity tour with the sexy, good looking author, Adam Cooper.
Being with Adam gives her pause to examine her life, both professionally and personally. What will she discover about her career dreams and personal life after spending time with, the almost to good to be true, Adam? Can she risk good for great?
I really enjoyed this book and also was appreciative of the glimpse into the publishing arena.
A great, entertaining read.

Sara is a great, relatable heroine. You easily cheer for her as she learns more about herself, and finds the courage to take chances not just when it comes to her career but when it comes to love as well. And I really loved Adam, who was the right mix of dashing, charming, and supportive – and who had some lessons of his own to learn. I also love the friendship dynamic between Sara and her flatmate/bestie Rosie, as they hang out, drink wine, and eat chocolates.
Think Katie Fforde or Marian Keyes, and you’ll have a good idea of the sassy tone in which Kinsella tells this story.
All in all, Tell Him About It is just the novel for a the perfect few hours of escapism. Happy endings are a given!

The story is a whirlwind romance, which is more enjoyable than entirely believable. But this is chic-lit and most readers will expect nothing less. Book will undoubtedly prove popular for Valentine's Day and women would do well to get their boyfriends to read it too to build, rather than burn, bridges in relationships all across the country.

Tell Him About It is a light – hearted, fun and poignant look at modern London life and Kinsella speaks to all of us who have looked at our jobs and love lives and found ourselves wanting more. With some lifelike and believable characters and a really likable heroine, Tell Him About It inspires you to stop settling for second best and to start listening to your heart. This is the first book of Kinsella's I have read but I will definitly look out for her in the future.

We find the protagonist Sara Sharpe (ex-model-turned-publicist) struggling in all aspects of life; losing hope in her relationship with financial consultant Simon Keegan, losing touch with her only sister and losing confidence with her career in publishing.
Although Sara could be seen as impossibly perfect at the beginning (with her unfailing wit, charisma and glamour), as the story progresses, we understand and share her universal desire for happiness. When Sara meets several life-changing crossroads at once, we are willing her on to take the necessary risks to become the brave woman she wants to be.
Kinsella fearlessly paints the publishing industry as a corrupt, dog-eat-dog world where the “who you know” concept extends to “who you are sleeping with” or “who your wife is friends with” and takes precedence over talent or quality, when selecting manuscripts to send to print.
Kinsella also finds space in her condensed novella to highlight the modern-world’s reliance upon social media, both professionally and personally. She isn’t afraid to explore the issues that come with advanced technology or comment on society’s growing frustration with intrusive journalism. This comes to light when Sara’s new favourite author’s personal life is sprawled all over tabloid newspapers and online forums. The dreaded Internet trolls have their way and Kinsella exposes the fragility and ruin that seems to come hand in hand these days with fame and fortune.
“Tell Him About It” is a heart racing, fun and intelligent contribution to the popular Chick-Lit genre, guaranteeing the reader an afternoon of escapism that will end with a smile. Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable and effortless read.

The love story does remain central though as the reader follows the heroine, Sara Sharpe, whose own views on life are changed by the arrival of well known author and apparent womanizer Adam Cooper. While Sara appears to have an enviable life, Kinsella also portrays her heroine to have an appealing vulnerable personality. Therefore, though Sara possesses a keen wit there is aspect of loneliness in her life which makes it easy to empathize with her. As a result this creates a poignant combination of entertaining and emotionally turmoil moments throughout the novella.
Perhaps due to the small length of the story, apart from the well-drawn Sara, the rest of Kinsella’s characters do unfortunately remain rather one dimensional. For example, the reader is bereft of Adam Cooper’s personal background which would certainly add more depth to the romance. Still, the book is perfect for readers looking for a witty, relaxed and fast paced read.
