For twelve years, Prospero, former Duchess of Milan and a practitioner of the magical arts, has been marooned on a remote island with her daughter, Miranda. They landed there by chance after Prospero's brother, Antonio (aided by Alonso, King of Naples), deposed her from her throne and cast her and Miranda - then not quite three years old - out to sea in a decaying and ill-equipped vessel.

The Best Version of ''The Tempest'' I've Ever Seen :)
Verified purchase
I'm sincerely grateful that during this odd, covid-lockdown year that the Stratford Festival decided to share many of their Shakespeare plays on YouTube. This is the best version of 'The Tempest' that I've ever seen! It's incredible, the way they decided to stage this play. The acting, the effects, the stage design - it's all astounding. The stage itself seems so simple, but so detailed, and the company just brings so much to Shakespeare's works, I can't explain my enthusiasm, well enough. But I'd encourage anyone interested in 'The Tempest' to check out this version. Dazzling to the eyes, amazing acting, superb costumes; I'm so blown away. I was thrilled to find it on sale, on Amazon.
