American Classic. Those bad reviews are missing the point.
Verified purchase
This is an American Classic, as well as one of the best shows to ever come out of television. It changed the landscape of the USA for the better, and brought up an entire generation of kids.

The people who give it one star because of the private life of the show's star are justified in their opinions of him but NOT THE SHOW. Those one star reviews are NOT reviews of the show, and as such -- not a good gauge for whether or not to choose to watch it.

This is an amazing show, period.

This Statement Must Be Made.....

I was in the middle of spending (a much anticipated) Saturday afternoon watching one of my favorite T.V. sitcoms from the 80's- The Cosby Show. The Cosby Show was a crucial point in my life. To finally view an African American family discussing real life issues spoke volumes to me. Each season is full of wonderful music, teenage challenges, and life lessons. The streaming quality is clear and I appreciate Amazon for allowing us the opportunity to see all of the seasons. I was finally able to see scenes that regular television channels cut due to commercials. Some of my most memorable scenes include: Theo getting his ear pierced, Rudy suffering from Theo's wall slam, Vanessa getting caught wearing makeup, and Denise weird clothing styles. The guest stars came from all different cultures and I loved how the show could develop a plot around them. I could relate to so many of the episodes and the list of my favorite moments can go on and on. I noticed the low reviews and became interested in why this wonderful show was receiving bad reviews. After reading a few of the reviews, I made the choice to leave mine. Let me first state- The people who are leaving reviews have every right to state their opinion and post their comments towards any product on Amazon.com. However, the issue I have is when people leave a review based on an issue that has nothing to do with this television show. Whatever issue a person may have with Bill Cosby should not be a factor when you are reviewing this show. Furthermore, to leave negative remarks based on an outside issue is an insult to the wonderful characters who made this show. Phylicia Rashad, Malcolm Jamal Warner, Keshia Knight Pulliam, and countless others. Let's try to leave the personal issues out of our reviews- we have enough political jargon in our face as it is. Please remember there are numerous blogs, websites, and chat places for you to post your personal opinions regarding Bill Cosby. I appreciate you for taking time out to read my review. I pray who ever reads this review is kind enough to understand my message.

The show is AMAZING! Hilarious
Verified purchase
The thing is...people are basing their reviews of THE SHOW on their thoughts about him in light of what is going on in his personal life. The show is AMAZING! Hilarious, great lessons, positive family portrayal. The show gets 5 stars! The video quality is great as well. If you don't care for Bill, just don't click on the show or leave negative comments.

Second Season Titles Are Mixed Up
Verified purchase
Love this show! I was very happy to see it as a part of Amazon Prime membership since it left Hulu. I must say the second season titles are all mixed up. Denise's Friend is showing Claire's Toe episode, Vanessa's Bad Grade is showing Denise's Friend, Mrs. Westlake is showing Vanessa's Bad Grade, Claire's Toe is showing Mrs. Westlake. I notice this because Vanessa's Bad Grade is my favorite episode of this season, the ending is phenomenal with the Let Freedom Ring speech by Dr. King being watched by Rudy after Vanessa and Denise had been fighting over something so trivial as her borrowing a sweater from her sister's closet they realized that and made up in the end.

An American Classic
Verified purchase
Such an amazing show that highlights what it to be an African American family and our culture. Sadly shows that are more recent only portray African Americans in a distasteful light, so I am glad to have found the whole first season so I can watch and re-watch such an amazing cultural masterpiece.

Timeless Perfection
Verified purchase
One of the BEST tv shows of an entire generation! I love the entire cast including Mr. Cosby. Whatever is going on in his private life has nothing to do with the quality of this tv show. Anyone who posts 1 star is mistakenly voicing their opinion in the wrong arena. This is a GREAT show; brings back wonderful memories I can share with my children. As a matter of fact, you do not find television shows today that parents and children both enjoy and can watch together. I wish Mr. Cosby would create another television show for our teenagers today; I bet it would make a difference in todays society. Mr. Cosby is brilliantly talented in the way he interacts with children including teens. Timeless...

Finally! Cosby show is a clean, funny, educational show for all ages. This is a show I feel comfortable watching with the entire family. I was in the process of deleting my Amazon account, however adding "The Cosby Show" has given me a change of mind!
