Good Lead Characters, Terrible Writing and the Most Cliche, Nonsensical "Hammer Studio" Style Last Episode. For some reason the French do not seem to know how to make these kind of mystery series. I suppose this is their attempt to make a sort of "Bridge", but the police work looks sloppy, with three sentence interrogations of culprits that later turn out to be serial killers, all the while outfitting their leads in leather jackets while chain smoking. They always beat one suspect up, but get no answers. They break into hotel rooms, find blood on sheets but never call for backup. That would be enough for them to at least pull their weapons. There is usually some background of emotional pain for one of the officers, in this case Camille, but we know nothing about her older boss, who struts around like he owns the joint, and seems able to do the research of many officers in one night by reading one book (and why is that book still there when Dr. Haim is murdered for the same information?) In one episode he sleeps with the main suspect. Forget that they are constantly staying in houses or homes that are filled with possible suspects, while leaving important information out on beds with the doors open. We have watched many European mystery series and this will probably be last French one, as they are not very good. Too bad as the leads are good actors and have a great rapport. If you are in the mood for European mystery series, stay with the Northern ones. Watch the "Bridge", the first series of the "Cliff" (which is special), "Fortitude","All The Sins", "Rebecka Martinsson", "Trapped", "The Break" or if you have to watch a French show try "Black Spot" which is excellent, or "Witnesses".
