The Fosters is my absolute favorite TV show. Unfortunately, I do not have cable and have Netflix instead which is about a year behind of new releases. This show is filled with so much emotion and creativity about foster kids, you actually learn a lot from this show as well. There is so much conflict too that you just get sucked into each episode and want to binge watch The Fosters. I tried going on YouTube to find season 4 episodes, but they were all blurry and very small on my computer screen. So I broke down and decided to purchase the whole season on amazon. And it is great because each week when a new episode comes out, it is immediately added to the season that you purchased. I never want The Fosters to end, it is so addicting!

Cruising around Netflix...then I found The Fosters. I think it is the best show since Madmen. The writing is unbelievable, and so is the acting. I am enjoying this show so much, they make it seem sooooooooooo real. The interesting part for me is that I have children that are older than the main cast members, so this is absolutely a program that an adult would find worthwhile! Watch it!

Great show with lots going on in a big family struggling to make good decisions. The moms are a couple who have taken in and/or adopted foster kids. Callie is a good kid who tries really hard to do the right, but keeps ending up in trouble as she is finding herself and growing into a young woman. Her brother is interested in same sex relationships and struggled with who he was as he grew up and is now in a relationship. There are many more brothers and sisters with interesting stories and lives. It's a loving and supportive family and is well written as it explores the struggles of living life authentically.

I do wish the writers would give the family a break. The first couple seasons, only one child had a major crisis, one with a minor & the rest good. Like a normal family. That was a huge part of the success.People could relate.This season is a little too much. Every single kid is in full crisis. That is completely unbelievable & overwhelming to watch.The power and draw of this type of family drama is it should have a lesson but also make you feel good cheering the characters on. This season makes me a little nauseated from the stress of it. I hate to see this show go this route.

The series continues to improve as the seasons continue. The story line doesn't hold back on problems/challenges faced by teens these days. I think it might send a message to kids who are trans or gay or in the foster system, or feel they have to chase that 'A' or feel that they just don't fit in, that they are not alone and are more normal than they may think.
The series might be a little too "out there" (the main character couple are married lesbians). It is 21st century version of "Father Knows Best," in my opinion, even if it pushes hot button issues. No rose colored glasses, no pearl necklaces being worn during housework.

This show just keeps getting better and better. I try to be thorough in reviews, but with TV shows it's tough to review it without spoiling. Those who enjoy family dramas with elements of comedy, heart warming moments, etc will love this. I have a passion for the social services field, and the foster care aspect of this show appeals to me. My teenaged niece and nephew love this show as well because it provides insight into the foster care system.

The writing, character development, acting, all 5 star! This show opens a whole new world, exposes and squashes myths, and mostly, is about what a REAL family is like, or can be like. I laughed at things, like one brother telling the other to "light a match after using the bathroom"... and definitely cried with them. They just became human. These people, these writers, weren't afraid to keep it real. Binged watched the first three seasons. Took my time on the 4th, EAGERLY awaiting the next!!

I love this show! I happened to it by accident on Netflix as a suggested show, gave it a try and was amazingly surprised. I'm a gay woman and have grown out of the sex-driven dramatic shows lesbian characters usually get stuck in. This show features two completely normal partners with an unusual family of mixed children from mixed backgrounds. Love love love! I suggest it for adults and teens 🤓
