It's supposed to be tongue-in-cheek silly and a SCIENCE SHOW!!!
The people who left negative reviews are confused and are probably too young and/or have never watched the original Top Gear show (British) or Mythbusters. This is A SCIENCE/ENGINEERING COMEDY EDUCATIONAL SHOW under the guise of a silly PRETEND romp on a deserted island. This isn't supposed to be a fictional drama for Heaven's sake. lol
I blame the marketing department for not understanding how to explain this to Amazon Prime audiences and the editing department for not even explaining it on camera with interviews, first. This would have gone over really well as a series of videos on YouTube with the actors giving commentary before and during. (Think Mark Robar etc...).
FIVE STARS FROM ME FOR THE CONCEPT AND THE OUR BUDDIES 'Suffering the elements for our educational pleasure'. How much fun would it have been to see them cut to shots off to the side between takes where they were having drinks and food with the crew! We could have made it seem like they were being secretly filmed relaxing at their trailer and/or hotel and being pretend-caught, lol!

Fun Show with 2 Interesting Hosts
Richard and Tory are a fun duo in this series. It is unfortunate that many reviews have not been positive, but I feel those viewers misunderstood the concept. Of course this is not considered a survival show and is a scripted comedy sketch in many ways. However the engineering concepts and potential of their builds is true (such as building batteries from metal and potato/yucca, which I have personally done before). They do mention multiple times that they took many weeks or days to build certain items, so the reviewer who mentioned the time error miss-spoke.
Any fan of Mythbusters who watches it for more than the explosions and any fan of Top Gear who watches past the multi-million dollar cars will enjoy this series.

Unwatchable cringe worthy
So very terrible. I like both of the guys from their past shows, but the overacting, hyper unrealistic and lazy "set design" made it unwatchable.

Hammond Can’t Save This Sinking Ship
So staged it makes Gilligan’s Island look like a documentary... I forced myself to finish the first episode, just annoying.

Wanted to like it but the acting is way too forced
I love the idea of Richard and Tory in a series together. They are both great personalities, but this forced acting combo doesn't work. It seems like Tory is trying to be too much like Jeremy Clarkson and Richard doesn't seem like his usual self, more of a recently wetted and dried out paper towel. Wish it was better, but I could only get through the first 29 minutes of episode 1.

Missed the mark
Feels like two guys who got turned down by Hollywood so they decided to make their own "Goofy Castaway" tv show.

Very Interesting Series!
I was waiting for this to be released since Hammond and Tory were first announced to be starting work on this series, and it has not failed to impress me. Looking forward to see them work together again possibly in the future perhaps?

what happened? Two stars is generous
Such a great idea turned horribly wrong. The casting was good but the scripting, staging and timing is just dreadful. I really wanted to like this as the two hosts did great in their other shows. What a waste of talent and a great idea. On the bright side maybe someone else will be inspired to make a show the way this should of been done.
