I loved watching Linden and Holder unwind the events of this case. As in each of these series, the viewer carries a dark foreboding throughout -- the truth is nearby and it promises to be ugly. I remained glued to the screen episode after episode, quite a feat that a one case/one season show can sustain this level of suspense.
Despite its darkness, the show offers a refreshing break from the run of the mill cop shows where the detectives are strong, brave, well-adjusted and painfully glib. Linden and Holder are clearly human, if fact, both are damaged goods. Their jobs are fraught with horror and its clearly taken its toll. This bare humanness makes the drama more intense, believable and real.
