The League of Gentlewomen Witches Audible Audiobook – Unabridged
Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the teahouse....
Miss Charlotte Pettifer belongs to a secret league of women skilled in the subtle arts. That is to say - although it must never be said - witchcraft. The League of Gentlewomen Witches strives to improve the world in small ways. Using magic, they tidy, correct, and manipulate according to their notions of what is proper, entirely unlike those reprobates in the Wisteria Society.
When the long-lost amulet of Black Beryl is discovered, it is up to Charlotte, as the future leader of the League, to make sure the powerful talisman does not fall into the wrong hands. Therefore, it is most unfortunate when she crosses paths with Alex O’Riley, a pirate who is no Mr. Darcy. With all the world scrambling after the amulet, Alex and Charlotte join forces to steal it together. If only they could keep their pickpocketing hands to themselves! If Alex’s not careful, he might just steal something else - such as Charlotte’s heart.

"It was medicinal," Alex replied. "Your lips were turning blue. I thought it wise to warm you rapidly."
Incredible! Sensational! Fantastic! Egads, I loved it!
I dearly love a laugh and if you do too, sweet reader, then you MUST read the Dangerous Damsels duo.
Oh, Alex. He's so charming your inner Lizzie Bennet will swoon dead away. Drowning in that charm! He's a rouge, a thief, a buccaneer! And Charolette. Brave, Lottie. She's a witch, the enemy, and a briefcase thief! Grabby hands for more from India Holton! Tally ho!

India Holton’s newest addition to the Dangerous Damsels series is a rollicking romp through the gossip sheets, and the bed sheets, of Victorian England. The spark of attraction between the rakish pirate and the heiress to the legacy of the witches begins with an almost kiss, a briefcase theft and a flying bicycle.
For the entirety of her life, Charlotte has bowed to the strictures and expectations of her family and her society. When she escapes with a pirate, she relishes her newfound independence and freedom. Her new companion is armed to the gills, has an enticing earring that makes her stomach do somersaults, and sports a pair of tall boots that make her pulse flutter quite alarmingly.
For the entirety of his life, Alex has cultivated a reputation based on moonlight seductions and dauntless escapades. Charlotte is the last surprise he expected to upend his very existence. She is his sworn enemy. A sworn enemy with sparkling eyes, lush curves and a sharp wit that drive him mad. He wants nothing more than to fall into dishabille with her at any and every opportunity.
Charlotte and Alex are joined in emnity and a common goal. The quest they are on will save, or destroy, the world and they are obligated to remain in each other’s company until it is accomplished. The witchs and the pirates are determined to sever their alliance. And Charlotte and Alex tell themselves that they are engaged in a brief, but satisfying, tryst – and that their hearts remain unencumbered.
I adored this hilarious, madcap roadtrip romance. It’s peppered with references to my favorite Austen heroines, sly innuendo and wit, and a gloriously uproarious love story that will make you smile and laugh out loud.
I was a very delighted fan of The Wisteria Society of Lady Scoundrels, so when I discovered the opportunity to gallivant once more in its world, and this time with gentlewomen, I immediately prepared my petticoat for perusal, peril, and a proper good time. Of course, these gentlewomen are really gentlewicca, using magic for serious matters rather than amusement. I was really delighted at the juxtaposition of Charlotte's good sense and Alex's devil-may-care attitude. With both of them enemies that should be at each other's throats, there was no end of banter, barbs, and bluster, all sprinkled with plenty of Victorian references that are sure to satisfy even the most Shakespearian of hearts.
Of course, their mutual goal, and inability to escape the other's presence, is capable of working its own magic, untangling somewhat the snags within their hearts, opening them to a rather different, and definitely improper, form of partnership. The League of Gentlewomen Witches is a wondrous, whimsical, wiccan follow-up to its flying house pirate predecessor, building upon this magical, Victorian-soaked world deftly and capably. Recommended for fans of Jane Austen, Shakespeare, flying houses, adept women, deft magic, and unlikely romances in troubled times.
