These low ratings are based upon customers angry that they bought a TV series that wasn’t available until now. I preordered this series too.

Highly recommended. This is an effective serialization of the book, The Looming Tower. It reveals the FBI-CIA distrust and competition, partisan politics, and flawed heroes behind the failures to protect the US from 9/11. No one person or failure is completely responsible for 9/11; however, the totality of mistakes and office politics consequently led to a disaster that we are all paying for to this day. Among the producers and writers are Alex Gibney and Dan Futterman.

Contrary to public opinion, the attack on 9/11 was not totally unexpected. The bureaucratic infighting that created the government's weakness has never been better chronicled. Jeff Daniels is consistently excellent, but it is a testimony to Peter Sarsgaard's acting on how much you despise him by the end of the series. All the actors excel at their roles in a tightly scripted drama. I hope the series makes you want to read the source material. I have read it twice, evidently because the first time didn't make me angry enough.

The events portrayed in this movie are convincing. Things played out exactly like I believed they did. I'm not a conspiracy guy, I worked in law enforcement & fire investigation for 40+ years & had a relative working with some of the US players.

Where is the complex history behind the carnage? Why this, and why now? Why not the inside story of how impossible it became for the Obama administration to put an end to the senseless, lie-driven retaliation taken out first on Iraq, that then spread throughout the middle east, or the currently deals Trump is unconstitutionally making with the Saudis? Where does this get us? Watch PBS Frontline's "The Man Who Knew" if you care to understand these years in a long and -- moreso for the people of the middle east -- horrific sage.

Some parts were a bit overdone, but for the most part this series was fantastic. Great combination of actual footage and acting. I don't think logically it makes sense to make a second season (unless they base off another book, or pick a different conflict), but I'd love to see this crew and cast put something else together.

This is a wonderful true story but I thought the last episode was better written in the book upon which the series was based. Terrific acting all around highly recommend.

Recommended to me by Ali Soufan’s SIL/ my Godchild. We loved it. Even with it’s fictional element it helped us to understand better the situation and diffficulties in best dealing with these scenarios. Admiring of the people who do this critical work in the world.
