This Moonstone 1 Disk DVD is a Never Ending Presentation.
Verified purchase
I bought the Moonstone DVD and it doesn't seem to ever end. First of all, it doesn't have episode cut offs where you can go back later on to go straight to where you left off. Then I find it a bit boring to say the very least. I'm at the end of episode 4 and ready to give it up entirely now. I like English Dramas, and mysteries, and have quite a library now over the years. But this Moonstone DVD was simply not worth my $20.00. It doesn't even say, or show on the package or on the DVD itself, how many episodes there is on my ONE DISK set. It just keeps piping up another episode, and I'm afraid to take it out, and try going back to where I left off, because it looks like I will have to begin at the first episode again, etc etc etc. I have never purchased a DVD like this before, and if anyone has an answer as to how I can take the DVD out, and put in back in again to episode 4, please post your answer as to how U can do this.

Received with same day shipping when our daughter said she wished it for her birthday (the next day). We spent part of that day watching the 3 hours plus of this adaptation of The Moonstone. It is absolutely the best depiction of this famous writing to date. It comes alive with rich period set dressing. But the overall outstanding aspect of this presentation is the telling of the story with twists and turns which keeps even the most jaded mystery lover guessing (unless one has read the book; but still the telling never disappoints.). The characters are believable and well acted. It is one of few presentations that entices the viewer to watch it again. Buy it, treasure it, but by all means read the story as well.

The Value of a True Gem.

A nice BBC production. Fine acting and well written. I own an earlier version of Moonstone with actor Greg Wise. The opening and closing of this drama is interesting but was not my favorite. You understand the point at the end of the story. It does hold your interest. Held to excellent production values from start to finish.

Great and Interesting Movie
Verified purchase
The movie is great because the main character had to deal with self conflict because of the stolen moonstone. First, the main character believes the moonstone is not stolen but hidden. However, the main character is hypnotize, and the possession of the moonstone is handed over to the main characters' cousin, Godfrey.
Well conceptualized!

I found the book so very interesting albeit in Wilke fashion was very detailed. The video was a great 'shorter' version. The actors were excellent.
